Removal of basic dyes from solution using coconut shell charcoal
This research aims to use agricultural waste as an adsorbent for dye removal from textile wastewater. Coconut shell charcoal (CSC), an agricultural waste, was used as dye adsorbent whilst basic yellow13 (BY13) and basic red14 (BR14) were used as ...

Sequential epiretinal membrane removal with internal limiting membrane peeling in brilliant blue G-assisted macular surgery [PDF]
Purpose To assess the selectivity of brilliant blue G (BBG) staining by analysing the morphological components of unstained and stained tissue obtained during epiretinal membrane (ERM) removal with internal limiting membrane (ILM) peeling in BBG ...

Sequence determinants of RNA G‐quadruplex unfolding by Arg‐rich regions
We show that Arg‐rich peptides selectively unfold RNA G‐quadruplexes, but not RNA stem‐loops or DNA/RNA duplexes. This length‐dependent activity is inhibited by acidic residues and is conserved among SR and SR‐related proteins (SRSF1, SRSF3, SRSF9, U1‐70K, and U2AF1).

Analysis of the feasibility of using biopolymers of different viscosities as immobilization carriers for laccase in synthetic dye removal [PDF]
The main aim of the study was to assess the feasibility of using biopolymers of different viscosities (high, medium and low viscosity) as immobilization carriers for laccase in synthetic dye removal.

The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

Removal of Reactive Green 19 dye from synthetic wastewater using electrocoagulation and aluminum electrodes [PDF]
Textile dyeing is considered to be one of the major industrial sources of high rates of organic and aromatic compounds. Conversely, these compounds have become a significant environmental problem.

Bone metastasis in prostate cancer (PCa) patients is a clinical hurdle due to the poor understanding of the supportive bone microenvironment. Here, we identify stearoyl‐CoA desaturase (SCD) as a tumor‐promoting enzyme and potential therapeutic target in bone metastatic PCa.

Kinetic study of adsorption and photo-decolorization of Reactive Red 198 on TiO2 surface [PDF]
Recycling and reuse of wastewater after purification will reduce the environmental pollution as well as fulfill the increasing demand of water. Adsorption-based water treatment process is very popular for dye-house wastewater treatment. The present study

PARP inhibitors are used to treat a small subset of prostate cancer patients. These studies reveal that PARP1 activity and expression are different between European American and African American prostate cancer tissue samples. Additionally, different PARP inhibitors cause unique and overlapping transcriptional changes, notably, p53 pathway upregulation.
