Vibration control of inverter motor by dynamic absorbers

open access: yesNihon Kikai Gakkai ronbunshu, 2019
This paper deals with the quenching problem of electromagnetic vibration of the motor stator in the wide frequency region around the natural frequency using two dynamic absorbers.

Screening and epitope characterization of Nidogen‐2‐specific nanobodies

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Camel immunization and phage display were employed to generate high‐affinity VHH nanobodies against Nidogen‐2. After library construction, biopanning, ELISA screening, sequencing, and recombinant expression, selected nanobodies were purified and characterized, leading to the preliminary exploration of a nanobody‐based sandwich ELISA for specific ...

Characteristics of vibration suppression of two DOF Frahm damper for two DOF system

open access: yesNihon Kikai Gakkai ronbunshu, 2015
Frahm damper is the dynamic absorber without damping. This damper suppresses vibration in some range of excitation frequency using anti-resonance point of frequency response function.

Dynamics of a Cubic Nonlinear Vibration Absorber

open access: yesNonlinear Dynamics, 1999
Abstract We study the dynamics of a nonlinear active vibration absorber. We consider a plant model possessing curvature and inertia nonlinearities and introduce a second-order absorber that is coupled with the plant through user-defined cubic nonlinearities.

Matrix metalloproteinase‐9 regulates cell adhesion and membrane protrusive activity of ovarian cancer cells

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Matrix metalloproteinase‐9 (MMP9) drives ovarian cancer progression. Using MMP9‐null cells (M9‐KO) created from ovarian cancer cells, we found MMP9 loss did not block Epidermal Growth Factor (EGF)‐driven E‐cadherin dissolution or EMT but delayed and reduced EGF‐driven membrane protrusions. Transient MMP9 re‐expression drove membrane protrusion.

Influence of End-Stop Design Variations on Dynamic Response of Centrifugal Pendulum Vibration Absorbers

open access: yesShock and Vibration
Centrifugal pendulum vibration absorbers (CPVA) are passive order-tuned mechanisms with absorber masses swinging along their specific paths. Their motion is limited by end-stops preventing undesired impacts due to rotor-to-absorber and absorber-to ...

Sensor-less parameter estimation of electromagnetic actuator for shunt damping

open access: yesNihon Kikai Gakkai ronbunshu, 2015
Electromagnetic shunt damping is a sensor-less passive damping technique using an electromagnetic actuator. The accurate values of the parameters of the system are essentially required for designing a controller in the damping technique.

Digital twins to accelerate target identification and drug development for immune‐mediated disorders

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Digital twins integrate patient‐derived molecular and clinical data into personalised computational models that simulate disease mechanisms. They enable rapid identification and validation of therapeutic targets, prediction of drug responses, and prioritisation of candidate interventions.

Why human connection is the true metric of research success

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Human‐centred mentorship can be shaped by mentor attributes, actions, intrinsic drive and career ambition. Drawing on reflections across Singapore and France, as well as workshop insights from FEBS‐IUBMB ENABLE 2024, this article shows that human‐centred mentorship creates the conditions for sustainable growth, well‐being and retention in research ...

Passenger car handling model validation using LMS-DADS [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
This paper presents the modeling and validation of a multibody passenger car model to evaluate the handling performance. LMSDADS generated the multibody passenger car model with PROTON WAJA as the benchmark.
