Dynamic Bandwidth Allocation in IEEE 802.16
2006IEEE 802.16 has gained significant research attention because of its broadband wireless services over a large coverage area. Bandwidth allocation plays very important role at the link layer of IEEE 802.16. In this paper, by considering the Automatic Repeat reQuest (ARQ) scheme for an erroneous wireless channel, a dynamic bandwidth allocation algorithm ...

Self-adaptive dynamic bandwidth allocation for GPON
Bell Labs Technical Journal, 2010Upstream dynamic bandwidth allocation for Gigabit Passive Optical Networks (GPONs) is an important design problem since the shared uplink carries many bursty streams with different quality of service (QoS) requirements, and hardware constraints necessitate infrequent update processing.

Dynamic bandwidth allocation in heterogeneous WDM EPONs
Telecommunication Systems, 2015Several dynamic bandwidth allocation algorithms have been introduced to schedule upstream wavelength channels in wavelength division multiplexing Ethernet passive optical networks (WDM EPONs), but mostly for homogenous WDM EPON networks with the same distance between each optical network unit (ONU) and the optical line terminal.

Review of Dynamic Bandwidth Allocation in GPON
2020 International Conference on Communication and Signal Processing (ICCSP), 2020Passive Optical Network (PON) is considered as the most important among access networks which is being evolved drastically in recent years. In this, Gigabit Passive Optical Network (GPON) is the most popular among the other types of PONs because of some betterments like higher Upstream (US) and Downstream (DS) bit rate also Quality of Service (QoS ...

Dynamic allocation of communication bandwidth in multicomputers
1994Long and unpredictable interconnection network delay can be the performance bottleneck of multicomputers with thousands of processing elements. Scheduling techniques based on virtual channels can be applied to provide the ability to deliver guaranteed communication bandwidth to classes of time-critical messages.

Dynamic bandwidth allocation for VBR video transport
ICC '98. 1998 IEEE International Conference on Communications. Conference Record. Affiliated with SUPERCOMM'98 (Cat. No.98CH36220), 2002We discuss a source model for VBR video traffic, and present an application to dynamic bandwidth allocation of the model. A two-state Markov chain model is used to extract useful parameters for adaptively allocating transmission bandwidth to variable-bit-rate traffic.

Dynamic bandwidth allocation for interactive applications
Telecommunication Systems, 1999The transmission of stored video across an ATM network is considered for interactive applications with bounded reaction times. The performance of the services renegotiated VBR (RVBR) and renegotiated CBR (RCBR) is investigated for this class of applications by trace-driven simulations. The goal is to determine the most efficient service for interactive

Dynamic Bandwidth Allocation Criteria Over Satellite Networks
IEEE GLOBECOM 2007-2007 IEEE Global Telecommunications Conference, 2007The paper studies the performance of possible bandwidth allocation criteria over satellite network. The methods practically implemented in a simulation framework and evaluated are the "value function" (VALUE), the "Nash bargaining solution" (shortly NBS) and the "Utopia minimum distance" (UMD).

Dynamic bandwidth allocation for ATM switches
Journal of Applied Probability, 1996We explore a dynamic approach to the problems of call admission and resource allocation for communication networks with connections that are differentiated by their quality of service requirements. In a dynamic approach, the amount of spare resources is estimated on-line based on feedbacks from the network's quality of service monitoring mechanism. The

Dynamic bandwidth allocation EPON survey
2013 IEEE Student Conference on Research and Developement, 2013One of the best options to support fiber to the home is Ethernet passive optical network (EPON) as it provides high bandwidth as well as it is cost effective. However, the issues arise in the EPON system nowadays is the bandwidth allocation. There are numerous research works that are able to allocate the upstream bandwidth dynamically to the optical ...
