Bilinear Subspace Identification of Induction Motor Dynamic Characteristics

open access: yes, 2004
The inherent properties of the induction motor of multivariate, strong coupling and nonlinearity result that the mechanism model cannot describe motor characteristics accurately.

Emerging experimental and computational methods for studying redox‐regulated structural transitions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Redox reactions can reshape proteins and alter how they behave in cells, with important consequences for health and disease. This review explores emerging experimental and computational approaches for discovering these redox‐sensitive protein switches, revealing their structural effects, and predicting their behavior, opening new opportunities to ...

Multiple positive solutions for dynamic m-point boundary value problems

open access: yes, 2008
In this paper, we consider a second order m-point boundary value problem for dynamic equations on time scales. First, we establish criteria for the existence of one or more than one positive solution of a non-eigenvalue problem.

Research on the Dynamic Response Characteristics of a Railway Vehicle Under Curved Braking Conditions

open access: yesVehicles
When a railway train runs along a curved track with braking, the dynamic behaviors of the vehicle are extremely complex and difficult to accurately reveal due to the coupling effects between the wheel–rail interactions and the disc–pad frictions ...

Synergistic perspectives—How single‐molecule biophysics complement biochemical understanding

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this review, we discuss how ensemble biochemistry and single‐molecule approaches are complementary, outline commonly used single‐molecule techniques, and illustrate their relevance through two representative case studies: chromatin organization by SMC complexes and pathway choice during DNA double‐strand break repair.

Importance of Longitudinal Stabilizing Cables in Dynamic Characteristics of Ting Kau Bridge

open access: yes, 2000
In this paper, the influence of longitudinal stabilizing cables on the modal and dynamic response characteristics of the cable-stayed Ting Kau Bridge is studied based on a calibrated three-dimensional finite element model.

Functional comparison of EncB and EncC cargo proteins in iron storage within the Myxococcus xanthus encapsulin

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Encapsulins are protein nanocompartments that play an important role in iron storage. In the Myxococcus xanthus encapsulin system, two cargo proteins called EncB and EncC contribute to iron mineralization. Here, we show that EncB and EncC generate iron‐containing minerals with distinct chemical compositions, suggesting that the composition of stored ...

Structural and biochemical analysis of a B12 superbinder

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
BtuG proteins are vitamin B12 scavengers in Bacteroides thetaiotaomicron, a dominant human gut bacterium. We present crystal structures of three BtuG homologs bound to cobalamin and its precursor cobinamide, revealing picomolar binding affinities, among the highest known for any natural protein.
