Single-Molecule Dynamics of the Replication Sliding Clamp and Clamp Loader System [PDF]

open access: yesBiophysical Journal, 2009
The sliding clamp is a conserved, ring-shaped cofactor of DNA polymerases. It encircles DNA and plays a crucial role in orchestrating many replication-related processes. In all forms of life, the sliding clamp greatly enhances the processivity of replicative DNA polymerases.

Criticality and degeneracy in injury-induced changes in primary afferent excitability and the implications for neuropathic pain

open access: yeseLife, 2014
Neuropathic pain remains notoriously difficult to treat despite numerous drug targets. Here, we offer a novel explanation for this intractability.

Experimental Investigation and Optimization Design of Multi-Support Pipeline System

open access: yesChinese Journal of Mechanical Engineering, 2021
The design of aircraft hydraulic pipeline system is limited by many factors, such as the integrity of aviation structure or narrow installation space, so the limited clamp support position should be considered. This paper studied the frequency adjustment

Dynamic Study of a Capacitive MEMS Switch with Double Clamped-Clamped Microbeams [PDF]

open access: yesShock and Vibration, 2014
We study a capacitive MEMS switch composed of two clamped-clamped exible microbeams. We first develop a mathematical model for the MEMS switch where the upper microbeam represents the ground transmission line and the lower one represents the central transmission line.

EDNRB‐dependent endothelin signaling reduces proliferation and promotes proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition in gliomas

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Glioma cells mainly express the endothelin receptor EDNRB, while EDNRA is restricted to a perivascular tumor subpopulation. Endothelin signaling reduces glioma cell proliferation while promoting migration and a proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition associated with poor prognosis. This pathway activates Ca2+, K+, ERK, and STAT3 signalings and is regulated

Cryo-EM structures reveal high-resolution mechanism of a DNA polymerase sliding clamp loader

open access: yeseLife, 2022
Sliding clamps are ring-shaped protein complexes that are integral to the DNA replication machinery of all life. Sliding clamps are opened and installed onto DNA by clamp loader AAA+ ATPase complexes.

Dynamic Clamp in Electrophysiological Studies on Stem Cell-Derived Cardiomyocytes-Why and How?

open access: yes, 2021
: Human pluripotent stem cell-derived cardiomyocytes (hPSC-CMs) are supposed to be a good human-based model, with virtually unlimited cell source, for studies on mechanisms underlying cardiac development and cardiac diseases, and for identification of ...

Establishment of a humanized patient‐derived xenograft mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer for preclinical evaluation of combination immunotherapy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We have established a humanized orthotopic patient‐derived xenograft (Hu‐oPDX) mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSOC) that recapitulates human tumor–immune interactions. Using combined anti‐PD‐L1/anti‐CD73 immunotherapy, we demonstrate the model's improved biological relevance and enhanced translational value for preclinical ...

An Analysis of the Vibration Characteristics of an Aviation Hydraulic Pipeline with a Clamp

open access: yesAerospace, 2023
Taking an aviation hydraulic pipeline as the research object, a fluid–solid coupling vibration model of the pipeline system, considering the influence of the clamp, is established.

A Depolarizing Leak in Sodium Bicarbonate Cotransporter NBCe1 Causes Brain Edema

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objectives SLC4A4 encodes electrogenic sodium bicarbonate cotransporter NBCe1, prominently expressed in kidney and brain. Recessive loss‐of‐function variants in SLC4A4 cause proximal renal tubular acidosis, no brain edema. In the brain, NBCe1 is expressed by astrocytes, where it regulates pH and mediates astrocyte volume changes.
