IGBT dynamics for clamped inductive switching
IEEE Transactions on Electron Devices, 1998Clamped inductive switching performance of insulated gate bipolar transistors (IGBTs) have been studied in detail with the aid of extensive measurements and numerical simulations. Internal dynamics of a latch-up free punch-through IGBT during clamped inductive switching is studied using two-dimensional (2-D) mixed device and circuit simulations ...

An intelligent fixture with a dynamic clamping scheme
Proceedings of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, Part B: Journal of Engineering Manufacture, 2000Both proper fixture design and optimum fixturing execution are crucial to workpiece quality assurance in manufacturing. This paper deals with an integrated approach to fixturing problems and, in particular, a ‘live’ fixture with sensory feedback and on-line fixturing control strategy to perform an optimal fixturing operation.

Dynamic characteristics of rotating pretwisted clamped-clamped beam under thermal stress
Journal of Mechanical Science and Technology, 2016Effects of thermal stress on the vibration characteristics, buckling limit and critical speed of a rotating pretwisted beam clamped to rigid hub at a stagger angle were investigated. By considering the work done by thermal stress, the thermal influence on stiffness matrix was introduced in the dynamic model.

An Embedded FBG Sensor for Dynamic Strain Measurement for a Clamped-Clamped Composite Structure
Key Engineering Materials, 2005A comparison of strain measurement results, from an embedded fibre-optic Bragg grating (FBG) sensor and surface mounted strain gauge, at different vibration frequency ranges and using a clamped-clamped glass fibre composite beam, is presented. It is shown that the FBG sensor is able to precisely measure the peaks at the first-two natural frequency ...

A Study of Dynamic Pipe Clamp Design
Volume 3B: Design and Analysis, 2018The piping support or restraint design and analysis must meet or exceed requirements of the applicable ASME Codes and standards specified for loading conditions of nuclear power plants such as ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code, Section III, Division 1, Subsection NF. In the piping industry, various restraint types such as shock and energy absorbers,

Dynamic clamp for pull-in time reduction
IEEE Transactions on Instrumentation and Measurement, 1996A dynamic clamp aimed at reducing the pull-in time of a digital phase-locked-loop circuit being fed by intermittent signals is presented. This clamp is useful when the phase-locked loop (PLL) is used as a frequency multiplier, and is based on the assumption that the input signal frequency will not change significantly during the period of disconnection.

Theoretical and experimental nonlinear dynamics of a clamped-clamped beam MEMS resonator
2008Microelectromechanical resonators feature nonlineardynamic responses. A first-principles based modeling approach is proposed for a clamped-clamped beam resonator. Starting from the partial differential equation for the beam including geometric and electrostatic nonlinear effects, a reduced-order model is derived.
