An Embedded FBG Sensor for Dynamic Strain Measurement for a Clamped-Clamped Composite Structure

Key Engineering Materials, 2005
A comparison of strain measurement results, from an embedded fibre-optic Bragg grating (FBG) sensor and surface mounted strain gauge, at different vibration frequency ranges and using a clamped-clamped glass fibre composite beam, is presented. It is shown that the FBG sensor is able to precisely measure the peaks at the first-two natural frequency ...

A Study of Dynamic Pipe Clamp Design

Volume 3B: Design and Analysis, 2018
The piping support or restraint design and analysis must meet or exceed requirements of the applicable ASME Codes and standards specified for loading conditions of nuclear power plants such as ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code, Section III, Division 1, Subsection NF. In the piping industry, various restraint types such as shock and energy absorbers,

DYNAMICS AND STABILITY OF PINNED–CLAMPED AND CLAMPED–PINNED CYLINDRICAL SHELLS CONVEYING FLUID

Journal of Fluids and Structures, 2001
Abstract The paper examines the dynamics and stability of fluid-conveying cylindrical shells having pinned–clamped or clamped–pinned boundary conditions, where “pinned” is an abbreviation for “simply supported”. Flugge's equations are used to describe the shell motion, while the fluid-dynamic perturbation pressure is obtained utilizing the linearized

Dynamic clamp for pull-in time reduction

IEEE Transactions on Instrumentation and Measurement, 1996
A dynamic clamp aimed at reducing the pull-in time of a digital phase-locked-loop circuit being fed by intermittent signals is presented. This clamp is useful when the phase-locked loop (PLL) is used as a frequency multiplier, and is based on the assumption that the input signal frequency will not change significantly during the period of disconnection.

Theoretical and experimental nonlinear dynamics of a clamped-clamped beam MEMS resonator

2008
Microelectromechanical resonators feature nonlineardynamic responses. A first-principles based modeling approach is proposed for a clamped-clamped beam resonator. Starting from the partial differential equation for the beam including geometric and electrostatic nonlinear effects, a reduced-order model is derived.

Dynamic-Clamp: From Principles to Applications.

2009
Dynamic-clamp is a fascinating electrophysiology technique that consists of merging living neurons with computational models. The dynamic-clamp (also called "conductance injection") allows experimentalists and theoreticians to challenge neurons (or any other type of cell) with complex conductance stimuli generated by a computer.
