The dynamic clamp comes of age

Trends in Neurosciences, 2004
The dynamic clamp uses computer simulation to introduce artificial membrane or synaptic conductances into biological neurons and to create hybrid circuits of real and model neurons. In the ten years since it was first developed, the dynamic clamp has become a widely used tool for the study of neural systems at the cellular and circuit levels.

Dynamic Clamp on a Windows PC

2020
Dynamic clamp is a powerful tool for interfacing computational models and real cells. We describe here how to set up and carry out dynamic clamp experiments using a patch clamp amplifier, a National Instruments data acquisition card, and the freely available QuB software that operates on a PC running MS Windows.

Rail Clamp with Dynamic Time-Constant Adjustment

IEEE Journal of Solid-State Circuits, 2016
A dual time-constant rail clamp for protecting CMOS circuits during electrostatic discharge (ESD) events is described. In the new circuit, a relatively small time constant is dynamically adjusted after the clamp is triggered during the ESD event, to keep the clamp conducting and dissipate the full ESD energy.

The dynamic clamp: artificial conductances in biological neurons

Trends in Neurosciences, 1993
The dynamic clamp is a novel method that uses computer simulation to introduce conductances into biological neurons. This method can be used to study the role of various conductances in shaping the activity of single neurons, or neurons within networks. The dynamic clamp can also be used to form circuits from previously unconnected neurons.

Nonlinear dynamics of FGM circular cylindrical shell with clamped–clamped edges

Composite Structures, 2012
Abstract An analysis on the nonlinear dynamics of a clamped–clamped FGM circular cylindrical shell subjected to an external excitation and uniform temperature change is presented in this paper. Material properties of the constituents are assumed to be temperature-independent and the effective properties of FGM cylindrical shell are graded in ...

Dynamic response of composite plates with cut-outs, part II: Clamped-clamped plates

Journal of Sound and Vibration, 1977
Abstract The forced and free dynamic response of plates with cut-outs formulated in Part I [1] is used to investigate the effect of cut-outs on the natural frequencies of clamped-clamped plates. The size, shape and location of the cut-out is expressed as a displacement dependent external loading. The plates considered are homogeneous and anisotropic.

Dynamics Modeling of Clamping System Considering Characteristics of the Clamping Contact Surface

Volume 3: Multiagent Network Systems; Natural Gas and Heat Exchangers; Path Planning and Motion Control; Powertrain Systems; Rehab Robotics; Robot Manipulators; Rollover Prevention (AVS); Sensors and Actuators; Time Delay Systems; Tracking Control Systems; Uncertain Systems and Robustness; Unmanned, Ground and Surface Robotics; Vehicle Dynamics Control; Vibration and Control of Smart Structures/Mech Systems; Vibration Issues in Mechanical Systems, 2015
The dynamic characteristics of the clamping system, which is composed of workpiece and chuck, have important effects on the stability of turning process. However, in current researches on cutting stability, the influence of the characteristics of clamping contact surface on the clamping system was rarely considered.

IGBT dynamics for clamped inductive switching

IEEE Transactions on Electron Devices, 1998
Clamped inductive switching performance of insulated gate bipolar transistors (IGBTs) have been studied in detail with the aid of extensive measurements and numerical simulations. Internal dynamics of a latch-up free punch-through IGBT during clamped inductive switching is studied using two-dimensional (2-D) mixed device and circuit simulations ...

An intelligent fixture with a dynamic clamping scheme

Proceedings of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, Part B: Journal of Engineering Manufacture, 2000
Both proper fixture design and optimum fixturing execution are crucial to workpiece quality assurance in manufacturing. This paper deals with an integrated approach to fixturing problems and, in particular, a ‘live’ fixture with sensory feedback and on-line fixturing control strategy to perform an optimal fixturing operation.

Dynamic characteristics of rotating pretwisted clamped-clamped beam under thermal stress

Journal of Mechanical Science and Technology, 2016
Effects of thermal stress on the vibration characteristics, buckling limit and critical speed of a rotating pretwisted beam clamped to rigid hub at a stagger angle were investigated. By considering the work done by thermal stress, the thermal influence on stiffness matrix was introduced in the dynamic model.
