Impacts of Trade Liberalization on Growth and Poverty in Ethiopia: A Dynamic Computable General Equilibrium Model

open access: yes, 2007
This paper presents a dynamic Computable General Equilibrium (CGE) Model for Ethiopia's trade liberalization that allows for quantification of income and welfare effects stemming from tariff reduction. This dynamic model has been built using a Social Accounting Matrix (SAM) of 1999/2000 for Ethiopia.

Electrically Induced Phase Transition and Synaptic Functionality in MoTe2/Graphene Memristors

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
An electrically induced reversible 2H ↔ 1T′ phase transition is demonstrated in a vertical Au/Ti/MoTe2/graphene memristor with a laterally contacted graphene electrode. Resistive switching proceeds through a compositionally invariant amorphous/2H ↔ amorphous/1T′ transformation, in which a self‐formed amorphous MoTe2 interfacial region is proposed to ...

Forward looking versus myopic regional computable general equilibrium models : how significant is the distinction? [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
We present a stylized intertemporal forward-looking model able that accommodates key regional economic features, an area where the literature is not well developed.

SOLVING THE POVERTY CRISIS IN NIGERIA: AN APPLIED GENERAL EQUILIBRIUM APPROACH [PDF]

open access: yes
PERHAPS, POVERTY AND PLENTY IS THE WORLD'S GREATEST CHALLENGE. THIS STUDY THEREFORE PROPOSE AN APPLIED(COMPUTABLE)GENERAL EQUILIBRIUM APPROACH, THAT IS A RENEW ATTENTION TO THE PROBLEM OF POVERTY , EMPLOYMENT AND INEQUALITY THAT EARLIER STRATEGIES ...

Designing Vanadium‐Based Oxide Electrocatalysts for Water Splitting: Experimental and Mechanistic Insights with Machine Learning

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This review establishes structure‐property‐mechanism relationships across six modification strategies for V‐based oxide water‐splitting electrocatalysts: lattice engineering, heteroatom doping, interface engineering, carbon‐based hybridization, morphology engineering, and surface reconstruction and pre‐catalyst design, where dissolution is reframed as ...

Global economic–biophysical assessment of midterm scenarios for agricultural markets—biofuel policies, dietary patterns, cropland expansion, and productivity growth

open access: yesEnvironmental Research Letters, 2018
Land-use decisions are made at the local level. They are influenced both by local factors and by global drivers and trends. These will most likely change over time e.g. due to political shocks, market developments or climate change.

Aviation, Tourism and Poverty Relief in Kenya: A Dynamic Computable General Equilibrium Model Analysis

open access: yes, 2016
Using a dynamic micro-simulation Computable General Equilibrium model, this research shows that further liberalisation of air services in Kenya is likely to lead to substantial growth in tourist arrivals. Results indicate that tourism growth principally trickles down to the poor through increases in labour demand and in income.

Architecture‐Driven Functional Coupling in Vertically Aligned Nanocomposites

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Vertically aligned nanocomposites define a growth‐engineered architecture in which vertical interfaces, strain fields, defect pathways, and phase connectivity are created simultaneously. This review shows how these architectural features couple ferroic, optical, ionic, electrochemical, and device responses, establishing design rules and open challenges

Climate Change Feedback on Economic Growth: Explorations with a Dynamic General Equilibrium Model [PDF]

open access: yes
Human-generated greenhouse gases depend on the level of economic activity. Therefore, most climate change studies are based on models and scenarios of economic growth.
