Dynamical Heterogeneity close to the Jamming Transition in a Sheared Granular Material

open access: yes, 2005
The dynamics of a bi-dimensional dense granular packing under cyclic shear is experimentally investigated close to the jamming transition. Measurement of multi-point correlation functions are produced.

In situ molecular organization and heterogeneity of the Legionella Dot/Icm T4SS

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We present a nearly complete in situ model of the Legionella Dot/Icm type IV secretion system, revealing its central secretion channel and identifying new components. Using cryo‐electron tomography with AI‐based modeling, our work highlights the structure, variability, and mechanism of this complex nanomachine, advancing understanding of bacterial ...

Low Temperature Static and Dynamic Behavior of the Two-Dimensional Easy-Axis Heisenberg Model

open access: yes, 1999
We apply the self-consistent harmonic approximation (SCHA) to study static and dynamic properties of the two-dimensional classical Heisenberg model with easy-axis anisotropy.

Inferring epigenetic dynamics from kin correlations [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, 2015
Significance Different cells in a clonal population can be in different phenotypic states, which persist for a few generations before switching to another state. Dynamics of switching between these states determines the extent of correlations between the phenotypes of related cells.

Sequence determinants of RNA G‐quadruplex unfolding by Arg‐rich regions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We show that Arg‐rich peptides selectively unfold RNA G‐quadruplexes, but not RNA stem‐loops or DNA/RNA duplexes. This length‐dependent activity is inhibited by acidic residues and is conserved among SR and SR‐related proteins (SRSF1, SRSF3, SRSF9, U1‐70K, and U2AF1).

Nonuniversal prefactors in correlation functions of 1D quantum liquids

open access: yes, 2011
We develop a general approach to calculating "nonuniversal" prefactors in static and dynamic correlation functions of 1D quantum liquids at zero temperature, by relating them to the finite size scaling of certain matrix elements (form factors).

Dynamic correlation models [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
One of the inputs required by investors, seeking to hold efficient portfolios, is the correlation between the securities to be included in the portfolio. Correlation estimates are required in most applications in finance including asset pricing models, capital allocation, risk management and option pricing and hedging.

Structural instability impairs function of the UDP‐xylose synthase 1 Ile181Asn variant associated with short‐stature genetic syndrome in humans

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

Examination of Dynamic Correlation between Major Assets in Iran by DCC-GARCH Approach [PDF]

open access: yesپژوهشهای اقتصادی, 2015
This study investigates the time-varying correlations among oil and coin prices, and exchange rate in Iran. Since investment is a key factor in economic growth and development, so the necessary funds should be provided and directed towards manufacturing ...

Electron correlation via frozen Gaussian dynamics [PDF]

open access: yesThe Journal of Chemical Physics, 2011
We investigate the accuracy and efficiency of the semiclassical frozen Gaussian method in describing electron dynamics in real time. Model systems of two soft-Coulomb-interacting electrons are used to study correlated dynamics under non-perturbative electric fields, as well as the excitation spectrum.
