Ontology‐Aligned Structuring and Reuse of Multimodal Materials Data and Workflows Toward Automatic Reproduction

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Reproduction of stacking fault energy calculations from literature with a semi‐automated large language model‐assisted extraction procedure: extraction of simulation protocol, atomistic structures, computational parameters, and reported results, ontology alignment, knowledge graph construction and, finally, recomputation forvalidation.

A model of dynamic recrystallisation in alloys during high strain plastic deformation [PDF]

open access: yes, 1999
Recrystallized grains, less than 200 nm in diameter were observed in heavily shear zones of a high strength low alloy steel and a Ni-based alloy, and Also grain refinement, less than 3 mu m in diameter was made in high purity aluminum by ECAE at ambient ...

Twinning and grain subdivision during dynamic deformation of a Mg AZ31 sheet alloy at room temperature [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
The microstructural evolution of an AZ31 rolled sheet during dynamic deformation at strain rates of ∼103 s−1 has been investigated by electron backscatter diffraction, X-ray and neutron diffraction.

Construction of meta-dynamic recrystallization dynamic model of 316L stainless steel based on grain orientation spread during continuous variable rate thermal deformation

open access: yesJournal of Materials Research and Technology
Because the deformation parameters (temperature, strain rate) in the actual manufacturing process are non-constant. We investigate meta-dynamic recrystallization behavior under the transient mutation state.

Soft Mechanical‐Electrical Logic Using Liquid Metal‐Filled 3D‐Printed Architectures

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
We present 3D‐printed soft mechanical–electrical logic elements that use liquid metal–filled silicone tubes actuated by thermoplastic polyurethane/polylactic acid (TPU/PLA) architectures to produce Boolean operations. Complementary normally open and normally closed unit cells perform repeatable binary transitions and can be combined into more complex ...

In-situ investigation of dynamic deformation in NiTi shape memory alloys under laser induced shock [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
The free surface particle velocity of NiTi target shocked with a pulsed laser beam was measured with a photonic Doppler velocimetry (PDV) system to study the dynamic deformation behavior of NiTi alloys at ultra-high strain rate of 10(6)similar to 10(7)/s.

Electrochemical Behavior of Flame‐Sprayed Sc‐Doped AlCoCrFeMo High‐Entropy Alloy Coatings in 3.5% Sodium Chloride Solution

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Scandium (Sc)‐doped AlCoCrFeMo HEA coatings are fabricated via flame spraying with 0.1, 0.3, and 0.5 wt% Sc additions. Among these, the HEA‐Sc0.3 coating exhibits the highest corrosion resistance, indicated by a more positive corrosion potential and lower current density.

Safe dynamic design of structures. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2000
The Design of structures under dynamic loading is a demanding subject in safety of engineering design since conventional static failure criteria are unable to deal with structures under transient loading.

Method of Predicting Dynamic Deformation of Mining Areas Based on Synthetic Aperture Radar Interferometry (InSAR) Time Series Boltzmann Function

open access: yesApplied Sciences
The movement and deformation of rock strata and the ground surface is a dynamic deformation process that occurs as underground mining progresses. Therefore, the dynamic prediction of three-dimensional surface deformation caused by underground mining is ...
