Dynamic Recrystallization: The Dynamic Deformation Regime

Metallurgical and Materials Transactions A, 2007
Severe plastic deformation (PD), especially involving high strain rates (>103 s–1), occurs through solid-state flow, which is accommodated by dynamic recrystallization (DRX), either in a continuous or discontinuous mode. This flow can be localized in shear instability zones (or adiabatic shear bands (ASBs)) with dimensions smaller than 5 μ, or can ...

Dynamic 3D models with local and global deformations: deformable superquadrics

IEEE Transactions on Pattern Analysis and Machine Intelligence, 1991
A physically-based approach is presented to fitting complex 3D shapes using a novel class of dynamic models. These models can deform both locally and globally. The authors formulate deformable superquadrics which incorporate the global shape parameters of a conventional superellipsoid with the local degrees of freedom of a spline.

Deformation Theory of Dynamic Link Matching

Neural Computation, 1998
Dynamic link matching is a self-organizing topographic mapping between a template image and a data image. The mapping tends to be continuous, linking two points sharing similar local features, which, as a result, can lead to its deformation to some degree. In analyzing such deformation mathematically, we reduced the model equation to a phase equation,

Dynamism of Glaciotectonic Deformation

1989
It should now be clear that glaciotectonic deformations may take place in a variety of settings — in front of the glacier, beneath the ice margin, or under the center of a thick ice sheet. Deformations may arise during advancing, maximal, or recessional phases of glaciation.

Deformation, Kinematics and Dynamics

2010
This chapter will systematically discuss the differential geometry, kinematics and dynamics of deformation in continuous media. To discuss deformation geometry, the deformation gradients will be introduced in the local curvilinear coordinate system, and the Green and Cauchy strain tensors will be presented.
