The Analysis of Formal Equivalence and Dynamic Equivalence in Translated Subtitle in Little Women Movie [PDF]

open access: yesMEDIOVA: Journal of Islamic Media Studies, 2021
This study aims to analyze the equivalence meaning of cultural words translation in Little Women movie subtitle. This study uses the theory of cultural words by Peter Newmark to analyze the type of cultural words and uses the theory from Nida to analyze ...

Equivalent static and dynamic games

2016 50th Asilomar Conference on Signals, Systems and Computers, 2016
We consider a dynamic game with T non-cooperative agents that act in a pre-specified sequence. The information available to an agent may depend on actions taken by preceding agents. We showed that this dynamic game is equivalent to a static game where agents' information has no dependence on decisions.

Equivalent Dynamic Models

Multivariate Behavioral Research, 2017
Equivalences of two classes of dynamic models for weakly stationary multivariate time series are discussed: dynamic factor models and autoregressive models. It is shown that exploratory dynamic factor models can be rotated, yielding an infinite set of equivalent solutions for any observed series.

Dynamic Equivalents by RHONN

Electric Power Components and Systems, 2007
Abstract This article is aimed to the application of artificial neural networks (ANN) for constructing dynamic equivalents. Neural networks are used to estimate voltages at some special nodes. The use of dynamic ANN allows to quickly reduce the size of the electrical grid due to the rapidity of the training process; this facilitates to study different ...

Dynamical Equivalence of Morphisms

2013
Infinite words can be fixed points of morphisms, and if the morphism is primitive, then such a word determines a unique dynamical system: the set of infinite words which have the property that each finite subword occurs in the fixed point word. The map on the dynamical system is the shift.

Transfer Equivalence of Linear Dynamical Systems

SIAM Journal on Control, 1970
The concepts of weak and strong transfer equivalence of constant (time-invariant) linear dynamical systems are defined and analyzed. The analysis leads to a simple new algorithm for constructing minimal realizations of transfer function matrices. In addition, it provides new information on the significance of the polynomial invariants which appear in ...

Equivalent Linearization for Continuous Dynamical Systems

Journal of Applied Mechanics, 1983
An approximate method is presented for determining the dynamical response of certain continuous nonlinear systems. In the proposed method, the system equation is linearized in the time domain prior to generation of a solution in the spatial domain. The approach is particularly suited to problems with complex boundary conditions which make selection of ...

On the equivalence of classes of hybrid dynamical models

Proceedings of the 40th IEEE Conference on Decision and Control (Cat. No.01CH37228), 2002
We establish equivalences among five classes of hybrid systems, that we have encountered in previous research: mixed logical dynamical systems, linear complementarity systems, extended linear complementarity systems, piecewise affine systems, and max-min-plus-scaling systems.
