Semi-Supervised INMF Algorithm for Dynamic Community Detection Based on Clustering Quality [PDF]

open access: yesJisuanji gongcheng, 2019
In order to realize the rapid analysis of complex networks,an Improved Non-Negative Matrix Factorization(INMF) algorithm based on Clustering Quality(CQ) is proposed, and applied to dynamic community detection. From the perspective of theoretical analysis ...

Structure‐forward targeting of claudins with synthetic binders

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Claudins form the paracellular barriers between epithelial and endothelial tissues at tight junctions and are targets for molecular binders with the goal of modulating barrier permeability. Claudin‐binding molecules are relevant in drug delivery or in altering claudin interactions with disease‐causing proteins.

Three variations of observation equivalence preserving synthesis abstraction [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
In a previous paper we introduced the notion of synthesis abstraction, which allows efficient compositional synthesis of maximally permissive supervisors for large-scale systems of composed finite-state automata.

Translating Vita Sackville-West’s Seducers in Ecuador into Polish: Cultural and Linguistic Challenges

open access: yesPolish Journal of English Studies
Despite writing during Modernism, Vita Sackville-West generally avoided the formal experimentation associated with this literary period. Seducers in Ecuador, however, stands out as one of her most formally innovative works. To date, no translation of the

Autophagy and mitophagy in pancreatic β‐cell homeostasis and their involvement in diabetes pathophysiology

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This review focuses on the role of autophagy and mitophagy in maintaining pancreatic β‐cell function and homeostasis. We discuss how genetic defects affecting these pathways contribute to the development of type 1, type 2, monogenic, and gestational diabetes. We further explore their potential as therapeutic targets. Created in BioRender.

The Equivalence Problem in Analytic Dynamics for 1-Resonance [PDF]

open access: yesArnold Mathematical Journal, 2022
AbstractWhen are two germs of analytic systems conjugate or orbitally equivalent under an analytic change of coordinates in a neighborhood of a singular point? The present paper, of a survey nature, presents a research program around this question. A way to answer is to use normal forms.

Partial depletion of plasminogen activator inhibitor‐1 decreases subcutaneous fat cell hypertrophy and liver cholesterol in high‐fat‐fed female mice

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Obesity raises blood levels of PAI‐1, a protein linked to metabolic dysfunction‐associated steatotic liver disease in people with obesity. In female mice fed a high‐fat diet, partially lowering PAI‐1 led to smaller subcutaneous fat cells and lower liver cholesterol, without changing body weight or insulin sensitivity.

Artificial Examples of Empirical Equivalence [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
In this paper I analyze three artificial examples of empirical equivalence: van Fraassen’s alternative formulations of Newton’s theory, the Poincaré-Reichenbach argument for the conventionality of geometry; and predictively equivalent ‘systems of the ...

Forward and Inverse Dynamics of a Unicycle-Like Mobile Robot

open access: yesMachines, 2019
In this research work, a new method for solving forward and inverse dynamic problems of mechanical systems having an underactuated structure and subjected to holonomic and/or nonholonomic constraints is developed.
