Advancing Dynamic Fault Tree Analysis
This paper presents a new state space generation approach for dynamic fault trees (DFTs) together with a technique to synthesise failures rates in DFTs. Our state space generation technique aggressively exploits the DFT structure --- detecting symmetries, spurious non-determinism, and don't cares.

Application of the dynamic FMEA in the reliability analysis of DCS [PDF]
Digital distributed instrumentation and control system (DCS) is critical to the safety of nuclear power plants (NPPs). Static analysis methods developed from analog control system are not applicable to DCS due to its enhanced dynamic interactions and ...

A Modular Approach to Non-deterministic Dynamic Fault Trees [PDF]
Dynamic Fault Trees (DFTs) are powerful tools for deriving fault-tolerant system designs. However, deterministic approaches to DFTs suffer from semantic struggles with problems such as spare races. In this paper, we discuss the added complexity in the state-space representation of a non-deterministic DFT model and propose a modularized approach for ...

Algebraic determination of the structure function of Dynamic Fault Trees [PDF]
This paper presents an algebraic framework allowing to algebraically model dynamic gates and determine the structure function of any Dynamic Fault Tree (DFT). This structure function can then be exploited to perform both the qualitative and quantitative analysis of DFTs directly, even though this latter aspect is not detailed in this paper.

Modeling dynamic reliability using dynamic Bayesian networks [PDF]
This paper considers the problem of modeling and analyzing the reliability of a system or a component (system) where the state of the system and the state of process variables influences each other in addition to an exogenous perturbation influence: this
