Advancing Dynamic Fault Tree Analysis

open access: yesCoRR, 2016
This paper presents a new state space generation approach for dynamic fault trees (DFTs) together with a technique to synthesise failures rates in DFTs. Our state space generation technique aggressively exploits the DFT structure --- detecting symmetries, spurious non-determinism, and don't cares.

Dynamic Reliability Assessment Method for a Pantograph System Based on a Multistate T-S Fault Tree, Dynamic Bayesian

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2023
The operational reliability of rail vehicle pantograph systems is evaluated by transforming T-S multistate fault trees into dynamic Bayesian networks (DBNs), which take into account system multistability, long-lasting operation, dynamic failure, and ...

Application of the dynamic FMEA in the reliability analysis of DCS [PDF]

open access: yesE3S Web of Conferences, 2020
Digital distributed instrumentation and control system (DCS) is critical to the safety of nuclear power plants (NPPs). Static analysis methods developed from analog control system are not applicable to DCS due to its enhanced dynamic interactions and ...

A PCA-LSTM-Based Method for Fault Diagnosis and Data Recovery of Dry-Type Transformer Temperature Monitoring Sensor

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2022
The failure that occurs during the dry-type transformer temperature monitoring sensor working will result in wrong data output, which may cause the monitor and monitoring background to respond incorrectly.

A Modular Approach to Non-deterministic Dynamic Fault Trees [PDF]

open access: yes, 2021
Dynamic Fault Trees (DFTs) are powerful tools for deriving fault-tolerant system designs. However, deterministic approaches to DFTs suffer from semantic struggles with problems such as spare races. In this paper, we discuss the added complexity in the state-space representation of a non-deterministic DFT model and propose a modularized approach for ...

Improvement of the Reliability Graph with General Gates to Analyze the Reliability of Dynamic Systems That Have Various Operation Modes

open access: yesNuclear Engineering and Technology, 2016
The safety of nuclear power plants is analyzed by a probabilistic risk assessment, and the fault tree analysis is the most widely used method for a risk assessment with the event tree analysis.

Algebraic determination of the structure function of Dynamic Fault Trees [PDF]

open access: yesReliability Engineering & System Safety, 2011
This paper presents an algebraic framework allowing to algebraically model dynamic gates and determine the structure function of any Dynamic Fault Tree (DFT). This structure function can then be exploited to perform both the qualitative and quantitative analysis of DFTs directly, even though this latter aspect is not detailed in this paper.

Modeling dynamic reliability using dynamic Bayesian networks [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
This paper considers the problem of modeling and analyzing the reliability of a system or a component (system) where the state of the system and the state of process variables influences each other in addition to an exogenous perturbation influence: this

Modelling and Resolution of Dynamic Reliability Problems by the Coupling of Simulink and the Stochastic Hybrid Fault Tree Object Oriented (SHyFTOO) Library

open access: yesInformation, 2019
Dependability assessment is one of the most important activities for the analysis of complex systems. Classical analysis techniques of safety, risk, and dependability, like Fault Tree Analysis or Reliability Block Diagrams, are easy to implement, but ...

Safety analysis of marine nuclear reactor in severe accident with dynamic fault trees based on cut sequence method

open access: yesNuclear Engineering and Technology, 2022
Dynamic fault tree (DFT) and its related research methods have received extensive attention in safety analysis and reliability engineering. DFT can perform reliability modelling for systems with sequential correlation, resource sharing, and cold and hot ...
