Spatial biology in cancer epigenetics

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Spatial epigenomics combines molecular profiling with tissue architecture to reveal how gene regulation is organized within intact tissues. In cancer, these technologies uncover the mechanisms driving tumor heterogeneity and microenvironmental interactions, opening new opportunities for biomarker discovery and precision medicine.

Investigation on the Dynamic Behavior of Rock in Three Stages of Rock Fragmentation Under Vibro-Impact Condition: Continuum and Discontinuum Model

open access: yesAdvances in Civil Engineering
Understanding the effects of harmonic excitation on rock failure is essential in terms of enhancing rock-breaking efficiency. Although a series of dynamic cracking have been studied, investigations on the dynamic behavior of rock in different stages of ...

Cancer cell‐intrinsic type 1 interferon: production, signaling, and outcomes within sex‐biased, female malignancies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The cell‐autonomous roles of interferon type 1 vary based on duration and intensity. While acute, robust signaling results in cancer cell cytotoxic effects, sustained, low‐level signaling is associated with tumor‐promoting effects. This review summarizes current research of IFN‐1 in cancer and within the clinical setting, with an emphasis on female ...

A dynamic fragmentation of the misery index in Nigeria

open access: yesCogent Economics & Finance, 2017
This study adopts a dynamic approach to compute the level of economic distress in Nigeria. Quarterly series from 2002Q1 to 2016Q4 were utilized in computing the index.

Single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assays for high‐throughput DNA–protein interaction studies

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We describe an optimised single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assay that visualises DNA–protein interactions in real time. Linear DNA fragments are tethered to a surface and stretched by buffer flow for fluorescence imaging. Using λ and φX174 DNA, this protocol enhances reproducibility and accessibility, providing a versatile approach for studying diverse ...

YIPFα1A expression is regulated by multilayered molecular mechanisms

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
YIPFα1A, a five‐pass Golgi protein, is regulated at multiple layers. (1) Rare‐codon enrichment drives translation‐coupled mRNA decay. (2) A proximal 3′‐UTR element stabilizes mRNA. (3) A distal 3′‐UTR element included by alternate poly(A) site usage represses translation, which can be overridden by the proximal 3′‐UTR element.

Two-dimensional dynamic simulation of fracture and fragmentation of solids

open access: yesComputer Assisted Methods in Engineering and Science, 2023
We present a two-dimensional discrete model of solids that allows us to follow the behavior of the solid body and of the fragments well beyond the formation of simple cracks.

Molecular dynamics simulations of positively selected codons in FcγRI reveal novel biochemical binding properties

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Evolutionary analysis across 32 placental mammals identified positive selection at residues H148 and W149 in the immune receptor FcγR1. Ancestral reconstruction combined with molecular dynamics simulations reveals how these mutations may influence receptor structure and dynamics, providing insight into the evolution of antibody recognition and immune ...

Experimental Technique for Dynamic Fragmentation of Liquid-Driving Expanding Ring

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2018
Expanding ring experiment is an important method for dynamic fragmentation of solid under 1D tensile loading. Based on the split Hokinson pressure bar (SHPB), a liquid-driving experimental technology was developed for conducting expanding ring tests. The
