Dynamic Line Ratings (DLR) Implementation: Results May Vary

Over the last few years there has been a significant push from FERC to move from static seasonal transmission line ratings to ambient-adjusted ratings (AAR) considering the impacts of the temperature each hour of the day and dynamic line ratings (DLR) which also considers predicted wind and solar heating of conductors.
