A comparative experimental study on damping properties of epoxy nanocomposite beams reinforced with carbon nanotubes and graphene nanoplatelets

open access: yesNanotechnology Reviews, 2022
Carbon nanotubes (CNTs) and graphene nanoplatelets (GNPs) are extremely ideal nanofillers for applications in damping polymer. This work explores the damping behavior of polymer nanocomposite beams made of epoxy resin reinforced with CNTs and GNPs ...

Spatiotemporal and quantitative analyses of phosphoinositides – fluorescent probe—and mass spectrometry‐based approaches

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Fluorescent probes allow dynamic visualization of phosphoinositides in living cells (left), whereas mass spectrometry provides high‐sensitivity, isomer‐resolved quantitation (right). Their synergistic use captures complementary aspects of lipid signaling. This review illustrates how these approaches reveal the spatiotemporal regulation and quantitative

Dynamic Analysis of Aerostatic Guideway and FEA Model Development [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
A dynamically optimal design is essential for a motion system to perform high speed operation without compromising its accuracy, settling time and vibration specification.

Protein pyrophosphorylation by inositol pyrophosphates — detection, function, and regulation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Protein pyrophosphorylation is an unusual signaling mechanism that was discovered two decades ago. It can be driven by inositol pyrophosphate messengers and influences various cellular processes. Herein, we summarize the research progress and challenges of this field, covering pathways found to be regulated by this posttranslational modification as ...

Low Frequency Mechanical Spectroscopy Study of Three Pyrrolidinium Based Ionic Liquids

open access: yesArchives of Metallurgy and Materials, 2015
In this work we present our recent results on three ionic liquids (ILs), which share bis(trifluoromethanesulfonyl)imide (TFSI) as anion and have different pyrrolidinium based cations.

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

The study of fibre/matrix bond strength in short hemp polypropylene composites from dynamic mechanical analysis

open access: yes, 2014
This paper presents results from an experimental study on the static and dynamic mechanical and viscoelastic properties of short hemp fibre polypropylene composites. Composites containing 10 to 60 wt.% short noil hemp fibre were injection moulded.

Damping Characteristics of Inherent and Intrinsic Internal Friction of Cu-Zn-Al Shape Memory Alloys

open access: yesMetals, 2017
Damping properties of the inherent and intrinsic internal friction peaks (IFPT + IFI) of Cu-xZn-11Al (x = 7.0, 7.5, 8.0, 8.5, and 9.0 wt. %) shape memory alloys (SMAs) were investigated by using dynamic mechanical analysis.
