Inverse Design with Dynamic Mode Decomposition

open access: yesCoRR
We introduce a computationally efficient method for the automation of inverse design in science and engineering. Based on simple least-square regression, the underlying dynamic mode decomposition algorithm can be used to construct a low-rank subspace spanning multiple experiments in parameter space. The proposed inverse design dynamic mode composition (

Titanium Suboxides Responsible for Electronic Anomaly Near Room Temperature in the Ti3C2Tx MXene

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Our multi‐technique study reveals that the near‐room‐temperature anomaly in Ti3C2Tx MXene is linked to titanium suboxide nanodomains, including Ti3O5, embedded within the MXene host. Their temperature‐driven transformation provides an alternative explanation to solvent‐ and swelling‐based models and offers new insight into the thermally activated ...

Exploring Pb‐Chelation Chemistry in the Crystallization Dynamics of Halide Perovskites

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A mechanism of how Pb‐chelation chemistry governs coordination geometry and initial nucleation behavior at the precursor level of halide perovskite, by regulating the deprotonation state of a chelating additive, is elucidated. This allows for innovative reaction‐system design principles that promote coherent growth while suppressing defect formation in

Dipole‐Engineered Conductive Additives for Ultrastable Interphase Evolution in High‐Areal‐Capacity Silicon Anodes

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
In the work reported herein, dipole‐engineered sulfonated carbon nanofibers enable conductive additives to actively regulate interphase formation in silicon anodes. Polar sulfonyl groups guide electrolyte decomposition to form a compact LiF‐rich interphase while promoting robust integration with silicon.

Tuning Separator Chemistry: Improving Zn Anode Compatibility via Functionalized Chitin Nanofibers

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Nanochitin derived from waste shrimp shells is used to fabricate separators for aqueous zinc batteries. By tuning the density of amine and carboxylic surface groups, water mobility at the separator interface is controlled, promoting uniform zinc deposition, suppressing dendrite growth, and enabling exceptional cycling stability exceeding 2000 h ...

Regularized dynamic mode decomposition algorithm for time sequence predictions

open access: yesTheoretical and Applied Mechanics Letters
Dynamic mode decomposition (DMD) aims at extracting intrinsic mechanisms in a time sequence via linear recurrence relation of its observables, thereby predicting later terms in the sequence. Stability is a major concern in DMD predictions.

Dynamic mode decomposition using a Kalman filter for parameter estimation

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2018
A novel dynamic mode decomposition (DMD) method based on a Kalman filter is proposed. This paper explains the fast algorithm of the proposed Kalman filter DMD (KFDMD) in combination with truncated proper orthogonal decomposition for many-degree-of ...
