Dynamical affinity in opinion dynamics modeling [PDF]
We here propose a model to simulate the process of opinion formation, which accounts for the mutual affinity between interacting agents. Opinion and affinity evolve self-consistently, manifesting a highly non trivial interplay. A continuous transition is found between single and multiple opinion states.

High strain-rate deformation analysis of open-cell aluminium foam
This study investigated the high-strain rate mechanical properties of open-cell aluminium foam M-pore®. While previous research has examined the response of this type of foam under quasi-static and transitional dynamic loading conditions, there is a lack

Review on Modeling and Control of Flexible Link Manipulators [PDF]
This paper presents a review of dynamic modeling techniques and various control schemes to control flexible link manipulators (FLMs) that were studied in recent literature. The advantages and complexities associated with the FLMs are discussed briefly. A

New Process Flowsheet for CO2 Compression and Purification Unit; Dynamic Investigation and Control [PDF]
The present study provides a novel process flowsheet for CO2 compression and purification unit (CPU) in order to improve its product quality and control performance. Unlike the previous process flowsheet, the number of cold-boxes has been reduced to one,

Effective Viscous Damping Enables Morphological Computation in Legged Locomotion
Muscle models and animal observations suggest that physical damping is beneficial for stabilization. Still, only a few implementations of physical damping exist in compliant robotic legged locomotion.

Coral Symbiosis Carbon Flow: A Numerical Model Study Spanning Cellular to Ecosystem Levels
Corals rely on a symbiotic relationship with algae (zooxanthellae), which reside in the host tissue and play a critical role for host metabolism through photosynthesis, respiration, carbon translocation, and calcification.
