Dynamic Modulus of Asphalt Mixtures

Transportation Research Record: Journal of the Transportation Research Board, 2015
Mix properties that deviate appreciably from the design properties during the production and construction of asphalt mixtures can lead to premature pavement distress or even failure. The objective of this study was to quantify the differences in the dynamic modulus of specimens prepared during design, production, and construction of dense-graded ...

Characteristic Analysis of Dynamic Modulus for High Modulus Asphalt Concrete

Applied Mechanics and Materials, 2014
In order to analyze the characteristics of high modulus asphalt mixture dynamic modulus, Universal Testing Machine (UTM-25) was used for dynamic modulus test of three kinds of mixtures, which were PR Module modified asphalt mixture and PR PLAST.S modified asphalt mixture and virgin asphalt mixture, to investigate dynamic modulus and phase angle at ...

Dynamic modulus measurement using the Dynamic Mechanical Analyzer

The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 2006
The Navy has used the Dynamic Mechanical Thermal Analyzer (DMTA) as a tool to characterize material properties over the last 20 years. It is now evaluating the Dynamical Mechanical Analyzer (DMA) as a replacement for the DMTA, with the goal to insert it into operation in 2006 with minimal disruption to current acquisition programs.

Predicting the Resilient Modulus of Asphalt Concrete from the Dynamic Modulus

Transportation Research Record: Journal of the Transportation Research Board, 2007
The NCHRP 1-37A Guide for Mechanistic-Empirical Design of New and Rehabilitated Design Structures introduces the dynamic modulus as the material property to characterize asphalt concrete. This is a significant change from the resilient modulus used in the previous AASHTO pavement design guide.

Dynamic Modulus for Reinforced Concrete Beams

Journal of Structural Engineering, 1984
The modulus of elasticity of concrete given by ACI Code 318-83 is thought of as secant modulus under static loads. It is more appropriate to use modulus of elasticity of concrete measured by a dynamic system, where dynamic loads are involved. The transverse vibration and elastic wave propagation methods are used to get the dynamic elastic modulus.

Dynamic Modulus of Recycled Pavement Mixtures

Transportation Research Record: Journal of the Transportation Research Board, 2016
Pavement recycling techniques have been shown to be effective for rehabilitating pavements by reducing environmental impacts, construction costs, and time. For various reasons, many highway agencies have not widely embraced these processes despite the demonstrated advantages.

Calibration of dynamic modulus predictive model

Construction and Building Materials, 2016
Abstract The aim of the present study is the evaluation of the Witczak 1-37A, Bari & Witczak, NCHRP 1-40D and Hirsch models for the estimation of dynamic modulus ( E ∗ ) and the subsequent calibration of the model to best fit with laboratory reference data of the material under investigation.

Dynamic Modulus of Asphalt Treated Mixtures

Road Pavement Material Characterization and Rehabilitation, 2009
This paper presents the results of laboratory testing to determine the complex modulus of asphalt treated mixtures. Laboratory tests were performed on two different asphalt treated mixtures from Qingyuan. Testing was performed at six temperatures and five frequencies.

Dynamic Shear Modulus of Isotropic Elastomers

Macromolecules, 2004
We have investigated the dynamic mechanical behavior of two cross-linked polymer networks with very different topologies: one made of backbones randomly linked along their length; the other with fixed-length strands uniformly cross-linked at their ends. The samples were analyzed using oscillatory shear, at very small strains corresponding to the linear

Modulus reduction dynamic analysis

1985
A semi-analytical method of dynamic analysis, capable of predicting both the magnitude and pattern of earthquake induced deformations, is presented. The analysis is based on a modulus reduction approach which uses a reduced modulus to simulate the softening induced in soils during cyclic loading.
