Two‐Way Shape Memory Alloy and Polymer Composite Hybrid Smart Actuator With High Speed, Accuracy, and Reversible Deformation

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Tailored thermo‐mechanical properties of shape memory polymer composites enable large reversible deformation as well as high actuation speed. Moreover, a structural design with curvature in the transverse direction achieves sub‐second actuation on heating and a larger recovery ratio on cooling. Finally, these newly developed smart two‐way actuators can

Prenucleation Species Dictate Foreign Ion Incorporation in the Biomineral Precursor Amorphous Calcium Carbonate

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
ACC forms via aggregating prenucleation clusters that gatekeep its chemical composition. Ion identity steers the path: Ba and Sr substitute Ca in clusters, thereby inhibiting nucleation, with a dose‐dependent switch of Sr to induction. Mg partitions into Mg‐rich and Mg‐poor clusters; the latter form ACC, expelling Mg.

A dynamic reconfiguration model and method for load balancing in the snow-shaped distribution network

open access: yesFrontiers in Energy Research
The snow-shaped distribution network (SDN) is a cable distribution network composed of eight (or six) 10 kV feeders from four (or three) substations in a regular connection. Compared with the traditional 10 kV distribution network, SDN can support a wide

The disengaging brain: Dynamic transitions from cognitive engagement and alcoholism risk

open access: yesNeuroImage, 2020
Human functional brain connectivity is usually measured either at “rest” or during cognitive tasks, ignoring life’s moments of mental transition. We propose a different approach to understanding brain network transitions.

Creating Tailored and Adaptive Network Services with the Open Orchestration C-RAN Framework

open access: yes, 2018
Next generation wireless communications networks will leverage software-defined radio and networking technologies, combined with cloud and fog computing. A pool of resources can then be dynamically allocated to create personalized network services (NSs).

Shape‐Changing Multiphase Microparticles from Complex Liquid Crystal Emulsions

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Liquid crystalline network (LCN) microparticles are prepared from single, double (Janus), and triple emulsions through a simple and scalable bulk‐emulsification strategy. Under heating, the particles exhibit robust, reversible, large‐amplitude deformations that depend both on the morphology and the liquid crystals director field configuration.

Research on multi-objective dynamic reconfiguration of active distribution network based on the random characteristics of charging load

open access: yesDiance yu yibiao
At present, various loads have exacerbated the complexity of the operation of active distribution network, leading to significant losses in the distribution network.
