Further results on bias in dynamic unbalanced panel data models with an application to firm R&D investment [PDF]

open access: yes
This paper extends the LSDV bias-corrected estimator in [Bun, M., Carree, M.A. 2005. Bias-corrected estimation in dynamic panel data models, Journal of Business and Economic Statistics, 23(2): 200-10] to unbalanced panels and discusses the analytic ...

Bootstraps for dynamic panel threshold models

open access: yesJournal of Econometrics
This paper develops valid bootstrap inference methods for the dynamic short panel threshold regression. We show that the standard nonparametric bootstrap is inconsistent for the first-differenced generalized method of moments (GMM) estimator. The inconsistency arises from an $n^{1/4}$-consistent non-normal asymptotic distribution of the threshold ...

Dynamic Buckling of Stiffened Panels

open access: yesProcedia Engineering, 2015
AbstractDesignof stiffened panels requires evaluating their behavior under any loading circumstances by considering initial geometric imperfections and the altering effects resulting from eventual material degradation. Both static and dynamic loading scenarios are to be investigated in order to assess safety for buckling strength of these vital ...

Dammarenediol II enhances etoposide‐induced apoptosis by targeting O‐GlcNAc transferase and Akt/GSK3β/mTOR signaling in liver cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Etoposide induces DNA damage, activating p53‐dependent apoptosis via caspase‐3/7, which cleaves PARP1. Dammarenediol II enhances this apoptotic pathway by suppressing O‐GlcNAc transferase activity, further decreasing O‐GlcNAcylation. The reduction in O‐GlcNAc levels boosts p53‐driven apoptosis and influences the Akt/GSK3β/mTOR signaling pathway ...

Threshold Effects in Cigarette Addiction: An Application of the Threshold Model in Dynamic Panels [PDF]

open access: yes
We adopt the threshold model of myopic cigarette addiction to US state-level panel data. The threshold model is used to identify the structural effects of cigarette demand determinants across the income stratification.

TRAIL‐PEG‐Apt‐PLGA nanosystem as an aptamer‐targeted drug delivery system potential for triple‐negative breast cancer therapy using in vivo mouse model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.

Innovative Sales, R&D and Total Innovation Expenditures:Panel Evidence on their Dynamics [PDF]

open access: yes
This paper studies the dynamic relationship between input and output of innovation in Dutch manufacturing using an unbalanced panel of enterprise data from five waves of the Community Innovation Survey during 1994-2004.

Correlation of the differential expression of PIK3R1 and its spliced variant, p55α, in pan‐cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
PIK3R1 undergoes alternative splicing to generate the isoforms, p85α and p55α. By combining large patient datasets with laboratory experiments, we show that PIK3R1 spliced variants shape cancer behavior. While tumors lose the protective p85α isoform, p55α is overexpressed, changes linked to poorer survival and more pronounced in African American ...

Dynamic panel data: A useful technique in experiments [PDF]

open access: yes
Numerous experimental studies use a panel approach to analyze repeated experiments involving a large number of periods. They use “static” panel techniques and do not incorporate any temporal dependency (lags) of the dependent variable.
