Malformin A1–mediated cytotoxicity in ovarian cancer cells occurs through pyroptosis and autophagy

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This study investigated the effects of the natural compound Malformin A1 (MA1) on the cytoskeleton that regulates cell proliferation and migration. Disruption of the cytoskeleton can impair these processes and promote cancer cell death. MA1 disrupted cytoskeletal organization, induced DNA damage, inflammation, activated autophagy, and pyroptosis ...

Ionomycin suppresses cancer cell growth by disrupting mitochondrial transcription

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
In this study, we identify a new function for the selective Ca2+ ionophore, ionomycin, as an inhibitor of mitochondrial transcription. Both total and nascent RNA analyses revealed that ionomycin treatment reduces the transcription of mitochondrial genes.

Exploring the influence of lactoferrin on wound healing and related signaling pathways: a systematic review

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Lactoferrin promotes wound healing by activating MAPK, PI3K/Akt, and extracellular matrix pathways, enhancing fibroblast remodeling, proliferation, and re‐epithelialization. These mechanisms highlight its therapeutic potential in inflammation control, tissue repair, and remodeling.

ATZ‐1 promotes DNA replication efficiency to maintain normal meiotic function

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Absence of ATZ‐1 interferes with meiotic DNA replication and cell cycle function via CHK‐1. This causes downstream defects associated with DNA damage and genomic integrity. Taken together, this study suggests that ATZ‐1 influences DNA replication efficiency and cell cycle function to maintain normal meiotic function.

Aphysiologic performance on dynamic posturography

Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery, 1995
The remarkable ability of the body to maintain balance is the result of central nervous system integration of sophisticated inputs from the vestibular, visual, and somatosensory systems. Strategies by patients with balance dysfunction are aphysiologic when their performance is relatively better on more difficult conditions of sensory conflict than on ...

Dynamic Performance

2012
AbstractThis chapter reviews research on dynamic job performance. It summarizes the empirical literature and presents conceptual and theoretical approaches of conceptualizing performance change and performance fluctuations over time. It addresses longer term performance changes, describes predictors (e.g., ability, personality) and outcomes of ...

Dynamic Performance of a Frequency Controller

IEEE Transactions on Communications, 1980
A simple first-order digital frequency controller, based on a voltage-controlled oscillator, is both described and analyzed. Experimental results of the dynamic response of the controller confirm the theoretical predictions. In particular, it is shown that by appropriate adjustment of the loop gain, synchronism may be achieved in one sample period ...

Performance Standards in Dynamics

Journal of Dynamic Systems, Measurement, and Control, 1977
A method to evaluate the performance of dynamical systems governed by ordinary differential equations is presented. It is based on averaging functions describing system behaviour (e.g. velocities) over prescribed domains (e.g. surfaces) in phase space. Quantitative measures of motion are introduced to indicate e.g. how oscillatory or how monotone would

Predicting Computer Performance Dynamics

2011
Traditional approaches to the design and analysis of computer systems employ linear, stochastic mathematics--techniques that are becoming increasingly inadequate as computer architects push the design envelope. To work effectively with these complex engineered systems, one needs models that correctly capture their dynamics, which are deterministic and ...

Multiprocessor performances for dynamic programming

Microprocessing and Microprogramming, 1990
A new generation of microprocessors called transputers provide support for multiprocessing and communications. This paper compares performances obtained with different processors (68000 μP, signal processors, transputers) in single and multiprocessor configurations for a typical dynamic programming application.
