Intramolecular Down‐ and Up‐Conversion in Dimeric Tetracene Complexes Centered via Platinum(II) and Palladium(II)

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Metal‐tetracene dimeric complexes are synthesized through the pyridyl coordination to either Pt(II) or Pd(II). Photophysical properties are systematically compared as a function of the metal using steady‐state and time‐resolved spectroscopy. The Pt(II) dimer exhibits efficient intramolecular singlet fission and subsequent intramolecular up‐conversion ...

Evaluation and Training of Dynamic Recrystallization phenomenon in an Al-Li-Cu-Zr(-Mg) Alloy [PDF]

open access: yesFanāvarī-i āmūzish, 2008
In this research, dynamic recrystallization of an Al-Li alloy was investigated in two temperatures, i.e. 350°C and 400°C. Wedge samples were subjected to hot rolling deformation in high temperature and one passes. For wedge specimens, reduction up to 70%

Thermal deformation behavior and microstructure evolution of GH4169 superalloy under the shear-compression deformation conditions

open access: yesMaterials & Design, 2021
The shear-compression deformation of GH4169 superalloy at 1000–1200 °C and 0.01–1 s−1 was investigated by physical and numerical simulation based on a specific shear-compression sample (SCS).

Ultrahigh Strength with Suppressed Flow Instability at Liquid Helium Temperature via Coherent Nanoprecipitation in a Medium‐Entropy Alloy

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
It is demonstrated that severe lattice distortion and coherent nanoprecipitates overcome the strength–ductility dilemma and mitigate discontinuous plastic flow (DPF) at 4.2 K. Such microstructural design enhances both thermal and athermal stress components, leading to exceptional mechanical performance.

Multifunctional Microstructured Surfaces by Microcontact Printing of Reactive Microgels

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Reactive poly(N‐vinylcaprolactam‐co‐glycidyl methacrylate) microgels are used as functional inks to create surface‐grafted arrays on glass via microcontact printing. The patterns (10–50 µm widths and spacings) enable stable binding and post‐functionalization with dyes and peptides.

Three-coordinate iron(II) expanded ring N-heterocyclic carbene complexes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
A sterically demanding seven-membered expanded ring N-heterocyclic carbene (NHC) ligand allows access to rare examples of three-coordinate iron(II)-NHC complexes incorporating only halide coligands of the general formula [Fe(NHC)X 2 ] (NHC = 7-DiPP; X ...

Local Thermal Conductivity Patterning in Rotating Lattice Crystals of Anisotropic Sb2S3

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Microscale control of thermal conductivity in Sb2S3 is demonstrated via laser‐induced rotating lattice crystals. Thermal conductivity imaging reveals marked thermal transport anisotropy, with the c axis featuring amorphous‐like transport, whereas in‐plane directions (a, b) exhibit 3.5x and 1.7x larger thermal conductivity.

The dynamic recrystallization microstructure characterizations of hot-rolled Fe50Mn30Co10Cr10 high-entropy alloy during different cooling rates

open access: yesJournal of Materials Research and Technology
This study investigated the dynamic recrystallization microstructure and recrystallization mechanisms of hot-rolled Fe50Mn30Co10Cr10 high-entropy alloy (HEA) combining the microstructural characterizations and the phase-field-crystal (PFC) simulations ...

Characterization of hot workability of IN617B alloy using activation energy, Zener-Hollomon parameter and hot processing maps

open access: yesJournal of Materials Research and Technology, 2023
In order to predict the hot workability of the material more accurately, this paper takes the hot deformation of IN617B as the example. The activation energy (Q) map, Zener-Hollomon parameter (Z) map, and hot processing map were established based on the ...

An In Situ Study of the Topochemical Transformation of Hybrid Layered Hydroxides Into Metallic Nanocomposites

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Herein, the topochemical transformation of cobalt‐based layered hydroxides into nanocomposites is investigated using advanced real‐time characterization techniques combined with thermogravimetric analysis. The study reveals how interlayer carboxylic acids direct the transformation pathway, highlighting the role of carbon content and anion length. These
