Predicting the Resilient Modulus of Asphalt Concrete from the Dynamic Modulus

Transportation Research Record: Journal of the Transportation Research Board, 2007
The NCHRP 1-37A Guide for Mechanistic-Empirical Design of New and Rehabilitated Design Structures introduces the dynamic modulus as the material property to characterize asphalt concrete. This is a significant change from the resilient modulus used in the previous AASHTO pavement design guide.

Experimental Study on Static and Dynamic Compressive Resilient Modulus

Journal of Highway and Transportation Research and Development (English Edition), 2020
To study the effect law of asphalt mixture composition design and static/dynamic test methods on resilient modulus, and consummate the design parameters of asphalt mixture, the laboratory tests on static/dynamic compression resilient moduli and strength are conducted by the uniaxial unconfined method and top measuring method by MTS-810.

Resilient Modulus and Dynamic Modulus of Warm Mix Asphalt

GeoCongress 2008, 2008
Warm Mix Asphalt (WMA) is produced at temperatures in the range of 30uF to 100uF (17uC to 56uC) lower than the traditional hot mix asphalt (HMA). It has a number of benefits including reducing energy consumption, emissions from burning fuels, and volatiles generated from the heated asphalt binder at the production plant at the paving site.

Study on Morphological Parameters of Hysteretic Curve of Dynamic Resilient Modulus

Journal of Highway and Transportation Research and Development (English Edition), 2020
The hysteresis curve of dynamic resilient modulus (DRM) is the load and deformation curve of asphalt mixture under dynamic loading, it can reflect the evolution rule of internal stress-train state with load and temperature. Based on viscoelastic theory, 3 morphological parameters could be determined: slope k of major axis, eccentricity e of ellipse ...

Construction of Dynamic Modulus Master Curves with Resilient Modulus and Creep Test Data

Transportation Research Record: Journal of the Transportation Research Board, 2012
For the past few decades, the stiffness of materials used for roadway design and construction has been commonly characterized by the resilient modulus, defined as the ratio of the applied stress to the recoverable strain. However, the resilient modulus is not a fundamental material property of a viscoelastic material.

Experimental Study of Dynamic Resilient Modulus of Cohesive Soils in Henan

Advanced Materials Research, 2014
Subgrade soil is very important materials to support highways. Resilient modulus (MR) has been used for characterizing stress-strain behavior of base or subbase subjected to repeated traffic loadings. Several methods to estimate the resilient modulus were suggested in the past years. The main objective of this study was to test the resilient modulus in

Automated Dynamic Cone Penetrometer for Subgrade Resilient Modulus Characterization

Transportation Research Record: Journal of the Transportation Research Board, 2002
Subgrade soil characterization, expressed as resilient modulus ( M R), is crucial for pavement design. For a new design, M R is generally obtained by conducting repeated triaxial tests on reconstituted and undisturbed cylindrical specimens. Because of the test’s complexities, in situ tests are desirable, if reliable correlation is established.
