Dynamic shear modulus of a semiflexible polymer network
Physical Review E, 1998We construct a model for the dynamic shear modulus $G(\ensuremath{\omega})$ of entangled or crosslinked networks of semiflexible polymer that can account for the high-frequency scaling behavior, $G(\ensuremath{\omega})\ensuremath{\sim}{\ensuremath{\omega}}^{3/4},$ that has recently been observed in solutions of the biopolymer $F$-actin.

Simple apparatus for measuring the dynamic shear modulus of cylindrical specimens
Review of Scientific Instruments, 1979An apparatus is decribed which has been used to determine the shear modulus of cylindrical specimens vibrating in the torsional mode. The specimens are maintained in self-excited vibration by an eddy-current driver, an eddy-current pickup, and a feed back circuit consisting of a phase-locked-loop and an amplitude control module.

Shear modulus reconstruction in dynamic elastography: time harmonic case
Physics in Medicine and Biology, 2006This paper presents a direct inversion approach for reconstructing the elastic shear modulus in soft tissue from dynamic measurements of the interior displacement field during time harmonic excitation. The tissue is assumed to obey the equations of nearly incompressible, linear, isotropic elasto-dynamics in harmonic motion.

The Dynamic Shear Modulus of Bone in Dependence on the Form
1979Torsional testing of fresh cortical bovine bone showed highly divergent shear moduli at various sites in the middle part of the diaphysis of the right metacarpus. Two hundred samples taken from twenty-five bones were investigated with a free oscillating torsional pendulum to determine the dynamic shear modulus.

Experimental Measurement of Dynamical Young's Modulus and Shear Modulus of Low-Impedance Materials
Key Engineering Materials, 2004A new dynamical measurement technique that combines PVDF film piezoelectric gages with resistor strain gages in conventional SHPB is developed to study the dynamical mechanical behavior of low-impedance aluminum foam. The average value of the stresses measured by PVDF gages from the front face and the back face of the specimen at each time is taken as ...

The Dynamic Shear Modulus of Paving Asphalts as a Function of Frequency
Transactions of the Society of Rheology, 1974The deformation response of paving asphalts to small-amplitude sinusoidal loading in shear is linear and thermorheologically simple so that master curves relating the dynamic shear modulus to the (reduced) frequency can be constructed. A simple analytical expression which gives a good fit to these master curves is proposed.

The dynamic shear modulus of bitumens as a function of frequency and temperature
Rheologica Acta, 1970Thermorheological behaviour and dilatometric glass-transition temperatures have been studied on 14 samples representing the three main types of bitumen. The frequency dependence of the dynamic moduli can be described byGaussian distributions of log relaxation time. The width of the distribution depends on the type of bitumen.

Model for Dynamic Shear Modulus of Semiflexible Polymer Solutions
MRS Proceedings, 1997AbstractWe discuss a dynamical model for the frequency-dependent shear modulus of an entangled solution of semifexible polymers, based on longitudinal fluctuations in filaments between entanglement points or crosslinks. The goal is to explain non-Rouse, power-law scaling of the bulk shear modulus that is found via microscopic rheology of highly ...

Determination of the dynamic shear modulus and loss factor of rubber
The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 1980We have recently developed a new resonance theory for the scattering of compressional waves by fluid-filled spherical cavities in viscoelastic materials, and have applied it to the study of the resonance frequencies and widths of peaks in the (monopole) f0pp scattering amplitude.

Model for Dynamic Shear Modulus and Damping for Granular Soils
Journal of Geotechnical and Geoenvironmental Engineering, 2000This paper presents a simple four-parameter model that can represent the shear modulus factors and damping coefficients for a granular soil subjected to horizontal shear stresses imposed by vertically propagating shear waves. The input parameters are functions of the confining pressure and density and have been derived from a generalized effective ...
