Dynamic Social Networks Logic [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
We introduce a general framework for reasoning about dynamic processes within social networks, such as diffusion phenomena. First, we define the new Dynamic Social Networks Logic, a dynamic extension of standard hybrid modal logic.

Models and methods for analyzing complex networks and social network structures

open access: yesРоссийский технологический журнал, 2023
Objectives. The study aimed to investigate contemporary models, methods, and tools used for analyzing complex social network structures, both on the basis of ready-made solutions in the form of services and software, as well as proprietary applications ...

Conserved binding mode but diverse interfaces of MreC‐PBP2 interactions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The crystal structure of abMreC reveals a conserved two β‐barrel architecture and provides structural insights into its role within the bacterial elongasome. The abMreC–abPBP2 complex model identifies the molecular basis of MreC‐mediated PBP2 recognition, contributing to the regulation of peptidoglycan synthesis.

Dynamic Models of Segregation in Small-World Networks [PDF]

open access: yes
Schelling (1969, 1971a,b, 1978) considered a simple proximity model of segregation where individual agents only care about the types of people living in their own local geographical neighborhood, the spatial structure being represented by one- or two ...

Core-Based Dynamic Community Detection in Mobile Social Networks

open access: yesEntropy, 2013
The topic of community detection in social networks has attracted a lot of attention in recent years. Existing methods always depict the relationship of two nodes using the snapshot of the network, but these snapshots cannot reveal the real relationships,

Microbiome‐blood–brain barrier interactions in aging — mechanisms and therapeutic potential

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Aging reshapes the gut microbiome (↓SCFA‐producing commensals; ↑pro‐inflammatory outputs), shifting circulating metabolites (↓SCFAs; ↑LPS, ↑TMAO, ↑PAA) that act at the BBB to increase nonspecific transcytosis, alter transport, and promote astrocyte reactivity, heightening brain vulnerability.

Nutrient/TOR signaling controls adipose mitochondrial transcription factor A (TFAM) to regulate organismal growth in Drosophila

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Animals must match their growth rate to available nutrients. We show that in Drosophila larvae, the nutrient‐sensing TOR kinase controls growth by regulating levels of TFAM, a key regulator of mitochondrial function, in the adipose tissue. When nutrients are abundant, high TOR activity suppresses TFAM, lowering mitochondrial bioenergetic activity and ...

An uncertain model-based approach for identifying dynamic protein complexes in uncertain protein-protein interaction networks

open access: yesBMC Genomics, 2017
Background Recently, researchers have tried to integrate various dynamic information with static protein-protein interaction (PPI) networks to construct dynamic PPI networks.

Dynamic Network Community Detection With Coherent Neighborhood Propinquity

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2020
The community structure detection in static networks often ignores the dynamic nature of the network and it is difficult to identify the evolution of community structure in dynamic networks. The community structure will converge or split as the nodes and

Liver organoids: modelling complexity in homeostasis and disease

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Studying liver in vitro has been challenging because simple 2D cell cultures fail to capture liver's cellular and architectural complexity. To bridge this gap, scientists increasingly use organoids, 3D liver models which better mimic liver composition and function. This review examines recent advances in liver organoid complexity and realism, discusses
