Sensitivity of Dynamic Stall Models to Dynamic Excitation on Large Flexible Wind Turbine Blades in Edgewise Vibrations

open access: yesEnergies
Present studies are specifically aimed at investigating the sensitivity of different dynamic stall models when exposed to various excitation frequencies. The investigations are targeted at blade edgewise vibrations.

Aerodynamic Performance of Wind Turbine Airfoil DU 91-W2-250 under Dynamic Stall

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2018
Airfoils are subjected to the ‘dynamic stall’ phenomenon in significant pitch oscillations during the actual operation process of wind turbines.

Not All Agreements Are Equal: Heterogeneous Effects of RTAs on Latin American Agri‐Food Exports, 1990–2019

open access: yesAgribusiness, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Since the final decade of the 20th century, Latin American countries have increasingly regarded the signing of regional trade agreements (RTAs) as a promising strategy for expanding their exports. Within this context, the main objective of this study is to assess the impact of RTAs on agri‐food exports in Latin America over the period 1990 ...

Autonomous AI‐Driven Design for Skin Product Formulations

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Discovery, EarlyView.
This review presents a comprehensive closed‐loop framework for autonomous skin product formulation design. By integrating artificial intelligence‐driven experiment selection with automated multi‐tiered assays, the approach shifts development from trial‐and‐error to intelligent optimisation.

Exploiting Ferroelectric and Spintronic Dynamics for Neural Network Computation

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
Ferroelectric and spintronic devices, relying on the control of polarization and magnetization, offer intrinsically fast, durable, energy‐efficient, and low‐latency building blocks for analog in‐memory computing. The hysteretic dynamics of an order parameter are leveraged to provide nonvolatile, multistate memory and nonlinear switching. Brain‐inspired

Asymmetric Whisker‐Inspired Sensor Pairs for Enhanced Airflow Sensing on Drones

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
This work incorporates asymmetric cross‐sections into a whisker‐inspired sensor pair to enhance airflow sensing. By comparing signals between two offset asymmetric whiskers, the system improves flow heading estimation and identifies the presence of fan‐generated wind during quadrotor flight.

Accounting for animal health in efficiency analysis: An application to Swedish dairy farms

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Agricultural Economics, EarlyView.
Abstract Poor animal health is a central concern in modern livestock production. Despite the necessity to incorporate animal health in efficiency analysis, the theoretical and empirical developments are limited on this subject. This article appropriately characterizes the axiomatic properties of animal health within a production framework.

HAWT performance with dynamic stall [PDF]

open access: yes, 1986
In this report we calculated the effects of flow nonuniformities (wing shear, tower wake, yaw, and large-scale turbulence) on the performance of a horizontal axis wind turbine, accounting for dynamic stall. We modified the PROP program to incorporate and compare these effects with the uniform flow case.

Using photovoice to understand community perceptions of firearm risks and protective factors among Asian Americans

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Community Psychology, EarlyView.
Abstract This study used photovoice methodology to explore Asian Americans' perspectives on the root causes and protective factors of firearm violence in their communities. Photovoice provided a participatory platform for community members to document lived experiences and identify priorities for change.
