Investigation of unsteady flow development over a pitching airfoil by means of TR-PIV [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
The flow over an OA209 airfoil subjected to a sinusoidal pitching motion under dynamic stall conditions is investigated experimentally by means of time resolved particle image velocimetry (TR-PIV) and surface pressure measurements.

Dynamic stall reattachment revisited

open access: yes
Dynamic stall on airfoils is an undesirable and potentially dangerous phenomenon. The motto for aerodynamic systems with unsteadily moving wings, such as helicopters or wind turbines, is that prevention beats recovery. In case prevention fails or is not feasible, we need to know when recovery starts, how long it takes, and how we can improve it.

HAWT performance with dynamic stall [PDF]

open access: yes, 1986
In this report we calculated the effects of flow nonuniformities (wing shear, tower wake, yaw, and large-scale turbulence) on the performance of a horizontal axis wind turbine, accounting for dynamic stall. We modified the PROP program to incorporate and compare these effects with the uniform flow case.

Farmers’ Protests in Germany: Media Coverage and Types of Bias

open access: yesAgribusiness, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The German farmers’ protests of 2024 sparked widespread media coverage and public debate. Yet, media coverage was not always positive, reflecting the media's attention‐seeking and selective focus. Occurrences of farmers blocking media outlets reflected distrust in how their concerns were portrayed.

Control of unsteady separated flow associated with the dynamic stall of airfoils [PDF]

open access: yes
The two principal objectives of this research were to achieve an improved understanding of the mechanisms involved in the onset and development of dynamic stall under compressible flow conditions, and to investigate the feasibility of employing adaptive ...

Control of Compressible Dynamics Stall Using Microjets

open access: yesVolume 2: Symposia, Parts A, B, and C, 2003
Control of the dynamic stall process of an NACA 0015 airfoil undergoing periodic pitching motion is investigated experimentally in a high-speed wind tunnel facility. Multiple microjet nozzles distributed uniformly in the first 15% chord from the airfoil’s leading edge are used for the control. Point Diffraction Interferometry (PDI) technique is used to

Artificial Intelligence for Bone: Theory, Methods, and Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Discovery, EarlyView.
Advances in artificial intelligence (AI) offer the potential to improve bone research. The current review explores the contributions of AI to pathological study, biomarker discovery, drug design, and clinical diagnosis and prognosis of bone diseases. We envision that AI‐driven methodologies will enable identifying novel targets for drugs discovery. The

Dynamic Stall Control on the Wind Turbine Airfoil via a Co-Flow Jet

open access: yesEnergies, 2016
Dynamic stall control of a S809 airfoil is numerically investigated by implementing a co-flow jet (CFJ). The numerical methods of the solver are validated by comparing results with the baseline experiment as well as a NACA 6415-based CFJ experiment ...
