Cardiac‐Derived ECM Microspheres for Enhanced hiPSC‐CMs Maturation

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Cardiac extracellular matrix microspheres derived from decellularized porcine heart provide a biomimetic 3D microenvironment for human induced pluripotent stem cell–derived cardiomyocytes (hiPSC‐CMs). This platform supports short‐ and long‐term culture, enhances structural organization, and promotes electrophysiological and functional maturation of ...

Measuring dynamic oil film coefficients of sliding bearing [PDF]

open access: yes
A method is presented for determining the dynamic coefficients of bearing oil film. By varying the support stiffness and damping, eight dynamic coefficients of the bearing were determined.

Dynamic analysis of the train-bridge interaction: an accurate and efficient numerical method [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
The dynamic behavior of railway bridges carrying high-speed trains can be analyzed with or without the consideration of the vehicle's own structure.

Digital Actuation Control of Soft Robotic Origami With Self‐Folding Liquid Crystal Elastomer Hinges

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Self‐folding soft‐rigid hybrid robotic origami is enabled by liquid crystal elastomer actuators with embedded Joule heating and closed‐loop digital control. Digitally addressable hinges provide reversible and programmable transitions between distinct folded states while maintaining actuation performance at high cycle counts (over 1500).

Dynamic Stiffness Characteristics of Bearings Under Combined Loads with Rotor Excitation

open access: yesLubricants
The unbalanced excitation of a rotor has a significant impact on the dynamic stiffness of the bearing. Traditional unbalanced excitation force models for the calculation of bearing stiffness are usually simplified as single-directional excitation models,

Analysis of dynamic stiffness effect of primary suspension helical springs on railway vehicle vibration

open access: yes, 2016
Helical springs within the primary suspension are critical components for isolating the whole vehicle system from vibration generated at the wheel/rail contact. As train speeds increase, the frequency region of excitation becomes larger, and a simplified

Counterion Dependent Side‐Chain Relaxation Stiffens a Chemically Doped Thienothiophene Copolymer

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Oxidation of a thienothiophene copolymer, p(g3TT‐T2), via different doping strategies and dopant molecules resulted in materials with similar oxidation levels and a high electrical conductivity of ≈100 S cm−1. However, mechanical properties varied significantly, with sub‐glass transition temperatures and elastic moduli spanning from –44°C to –3°C and ...
