An exact dynamic stiffness matrix for a beam incorporating Rayleigh–Love and Timoshenko theories
An exact dynamic stiffness matrix for a beam is developed by integrating the Rayleigh–Love theory for longitudinal vibration into the Timoshenko theory for bending vibration.

Chronobiology of Cancer: How Aging Fuels Oncogenesis at the Molecular Level
This graphical abstract illustrates the key biological pathways linking aging with cancer development and progression. In the upper left, cumulative exposure to ultraviolet radiation, toxins, and reactive oxygen species (ROS) causes DNA damage and genomic instability, whereas age‐related decline in repair mechanisms, such as ATM/ATR, BER, and NER ...

[18F]Fluorodeprenyl‐D2 PET as a Tool to Monitor Disease Activity in GAD65‐Ab Autoimmune Encephalitis
ABSTRACT Objective To evaluate [18F]fluorodeprenyl‐D2 ([18F]F‐DED) positron‐emission tomography (PET) imaging as a biomarker of disease activity in autoimmune encephalitis (AIE) associated with glutamic acid decarboxylase 65 (GAD65) antibodies. Methods [18F]F‐DED PET was performed in 25 GAD65‐AIE patients and 8 controls using dynamic (0–60 min) and ...

The development of accurate dynamic stiffness models is a key aspect in the design process of ball screws. However, variations in the nut center of mass position can affect the dynamic stiffness, which makes it difficult to develop a stiffness model.

Objective We examined whether 18 months of strength training in individuals with knee varus alignment and medial tibiofemoral osteoarthritis (OA) reduced knee joint loads during walking compared to an attention control group. Methods This study was a secondary analysis of a randomized clinical trial that compared the effects of strength training to a ...

Evaluation of dynamic behavior of varved clays from the Warsaw ice-dammed lake, Poland
Soil stiffness degradation due to dynamic loading may result in damage to engineering structures. Therefore, dynamic soil properties gained importance in recent years in the areas where vibrations of different origins are transmitted to the ground.

Twist and Writhe Dynamics of Stiff Polymers [PDF]
I consider the dynamics of a stiff filament, in particular the coupling of twist and bend via writhe. The time dependence of the writhe of a filament of length L is ([Wr(t) - Wr(0)]2) > approximately Lt(1/4). Simulations, on a simple model of a stiff polymer, are used to confirm scaling arguments.

Systemic sclerosis (SSc) is a rare autoimmune disease defined by immune dysregulation, vasculopathy, and progressive fibrosis of the skin and internal organs. Despite advances in care, major complications such as interstitial lung disease (ILD) and myocardial involvement remain the leading causes of morbidity and mortality.
