This study reveals how the mitochondrial protein Slm35 is regulated in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The authors identify stress‐responsive DNA elements and two upstream open reading frames (uORFs) in the 5′ untranslated region of SLM35. One uORF restricts translation, and its mutation increases Slm35 protein levels and mitophagy.

Effect of natural aging time on tensile and fatigue anisotropy of extruded 7075 Al alloy
In this study, 7075 Al alloy was prepared by solution treatment + natural aging. The anisotropic behavior of 7075 Al alloy in extrusion direction (ED), 45° direction (45°) and radial direction (RD) was studied by quasi-static tensile test and strain ...

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

Strain and Age Effects on Aqueous Humor Dynamics in the Mouse
We evaluated differences in aqueous humor dynamics (AHD) among several mouse strains within younger and older age groups.Albino (A/J, BALB/cJ) and pigmented (C3H/HeJ, C57-BL/6J) mice (young [2½-4½ months] and aged [10-12 months]) were studied. Intraocular pressure (IOP) was measured.

The human gut microbiome across the life course
Despite significant individual variation and continuous change throughout life, the human gut microbiome follows some life stage‐specific trends. This article provides a brief overview of how gut microbiome composition shifts across different phases of life. Created in BioRender. Özkurt, E. (2026) https://BioRender.com/8q4nrnc.
