In the presented research, conventional cyclic tension⁻compression tests and dynamic tests were performed on two types of asphalt mixes (AM). For the tension⁻compression tests, the complex modulus was obtained from the measurements of the ...

The importance of microtubule-dependent tension in accurate chromosome segregation
Accurate chromosome segregation is vital for cell and organismal viability. The mitotic spindle, a bipolar macromolecular machine composed largely of dynamic microtubules, is responsible for chromosome segregation during each cell replication cycle ...

This perspective highlights emerging insights into how the circadian transcription factor CLOCK:BMAL1 regulates chromatin architecture, cooperates with other transcription factors, and coordinates enhancer dynamics. We propose an updated framework for how circadian transcription factors operate within dynamic and multifactorial chromatin landscapes ...

Disordered but rhythmic—the role of intrinsic protein disorder in eukaryotic circadian timing
Unstructured domains known as intrinsically disordered regions (IDRs) are present in nearly every part of the eukaryotic core circadian oscillator. IDRs enable many diverse inter‐ and intramolecular interactions that support clock function. IDR conformations are highly tunable by post‐translational modifications and environmental conditions, which ...

Chain tension control of scraper conveyor based on sliding mode control
According to nonlinear, stochastic and time-varying characteristics of chain tension control of scraper conveyor in coal mine underground, a chain tension control system of scraper conveyor was proposed which was based on sliding mode control method to ...

Time after time – circadian clocks through the lens of oscillator theory
Oscillator theory bridges physics and circadian biology. Damped oscillators require external drivers, while limit cycles emerge from delayed feedback and nonlinearities. Coupling enables tissue‐level coherence, and entrainment aligns internal clocks with environmental cues.

Dynamic Uniform Deformation for Electromagnetic Uniaxial Tension
To compare with quasi-static uniaxial tensioning, researchers designed an electromagnetic uniaxial tension method using a runway coil. However, the requirements to obtain a uniformly deformed sample and the ways the stress changes on the sample using a ...

Dynamic transitions of surface tension driven convection [PDF]
We study the well-posedness and dynamic transitions of the surface tension driven convection in a three-dimensional (3D) rectangular box with non-deformable upper surface and with free-slip boundary conditions. It is shown that as the Marangoni number crosses the critical threshold, the system always undergoes a dynamic transition.

The newfound relationship between extrachromosomal DNAs and excised signal circles
Extrachromosomal DNAs (ecDNAs) contribute to the progression of many human cancers. In addition, circular DNA by‐products of V(D)J recombination, excised signal circles (ESCs), have roles in cancer progression but have largely been overlooked. In this Review, we explore the roles of ecDNAs and ESCs in cancer development, and highlight why these ...
