A Microbolometer Asynchronous Dynamic Vision Sensor for LWIR

IEEE Sensors Journal, 2009
In this paper, a novel event-based dynamic IR vision sensor is presented. The device combines an uncooled microbolometer array with biology-inspired (ldquoneuromorphicrdquo) readout circuitry to implement an asynchronous, ldquospikingrdquo vision sensor for the 8-15 mum thermal infrared spectral range.

Smart Features for Dynamic Vision Sensors

2020 IEEE/ION Position, Location and Navigation Symposium (PLANS), 2020
This paper presents a semi-supervised procedure for training a fully convolutional neural network for interest point detection and description. Contrary to previously trained networks utilized for the same purpose, our network was tailored to work with event-based imagery from a downward facing camera aboard a fixed-wing unmanned aerial vehicle.

Spike Coding for Dynamic Vision Sensors

2018 Data Compression Conference, 2018
As an emerging kind of retinomorphic camera, the dynamic vision sensors (DVS) have shown great advantages in wide dynamic range and high temporal resolution in various applications such as autonomous driving and high-speed motion photography. However, how to compress the output spike data of DVS still remains a big challenge. To address this challenge,

Dynamic vision sensor datasets in the maritime domain

Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning in Defense Applications III, 2021
Event cameras utilize novel imaging sensors patterned after visual pathways in the brain that are responsive to low contrast, transient events. Specifically, the pixels of dynamic vision sensors (DVS) react independently and asynchronously to changes in light intensity, creating a stream of time-stamped events encoding the pixels’ (x, y) location in ...

Cooperative and asynchronous stereo vision for dynamic vision sensors

Measurement Science and Technology, 2014
Dynamic vision sensors (DVSs) encode visual input as a stream of events generated upon relative light intensity changes in the scene. These sensors have the advantage of allowing simultaneously high temporal resolution (better than 10 µs) and wide dynamic range (>120 dB) at sparse data representation, which is not possible with clocked vision sensors ...

Color temporal contrast sensitivity in dynamic vision sensors

2017 IEEE International Symposium on Circuits and Systems (ISCAS), 2017
This paper introduces the first simulations and measurements of event data obtained from the first Dynamic and Active Vision Sensors (DAVIS) with RGBW color filters. The absolute quantum efficiency spectral responses of the RGBW photodiodes were measured, the behavior of the color-sensitive DVS pixels were simulated and measured, and reconstruction ...
