Target recognition and detection system based on sensor and nonlinear machine vision fusion

open access: yesNonlinear Engineering, 2023
In order to realize the automatic detection system of electric sensor, a method based on sensor and nonlinear machine vision is proposed. Aiming at complex scenes and dynamic changes in target recognition and detection in large-scale industrial field, a ...

Dynamic Vision Sensors for Human Activity Recognition [PDF]

open access: yes2017 4th IAPR Asian Conference on Pattern Recognition (ACPR), 2017
Unlike conventional cameras which capture video at a fixed frame rate, Dynamic Vision Sensors (DVS) record only changes in pixel intensity values. The output of DVS is simply a stream of discrete ON/OFF events based on the polarity of change in its pixel values.

Lifetime estimation of events from Dynamic Vision Sensors [PDF]

open access: yes2015 IEEE International Conference on Robotics and Automation (ICRA), 2015
We propose an algorithm to estimate the “lifetime” of events from retinal cameras, such as a Dynamic Vision Sensor (DVS). Unlike standard CMOS cameras, a DVS only transmits pixel-level brightness changes (“events”) at the time they occur with micro-second resolution.

Illumination-Based Synchronization of High-Speed Vision Sensors

open access: yesSensors, 2010
To acquire images of dynamic scenes from multiple points of view simultaneously, the acquisition time of vision sensors should be synchronized. This paper describes an illumination-based synchronization method derived from the phase-locked loop (PLL ...

In-vivo imaging of neural activity with dynamic vision sensors [PDF]

open access: yes2017 IEEE Biomedical Circuits and Systems Conference (BioCAS), 2017
Optical recording of neural activity using calcium or voltage indicators requires cameras capable of detecting small temporal contrast in light intensity with sample rates of 10 Hz to 1 kHz. Large pixel scientific CMOS image sensors (sCMOS) are typically used due to their high resolution, high frame rate, and low noise.

Temperature and Parasitic Photocurrent Effects in Dynamic Vision Sensors [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Electron Devices, 2017
The effect of temperature and parasitic photocurrent on event-based dynamic vision sensors (DVS) is important because of their application in uncontrolled robotic, automotive, and surveillance applications. This paper considers the temperature dependence of DVS threshold temporal contrast (TC), dark current, and background activity caused by junction ...
