Symanzik improvement with dynamical charm: a 3+1 scheme for Wilson quarks
We discuss the problem of lattice artefacts in QCD simulations enhanced by the introduction of dynamical charmed quarks. In particular, we advocate the use of a massive renormalization scheme with a close to realistic charm mass.

Bayesian Analysis of Coefficient Instability in Dynamic Regressions [PDF]
This paper deals with instability in regression coefficients. We propose a Bayesian regression model with time-varying coefficients (TVC) that allows to jointly estimate the degree of instability and the time-path of the coefficients. Thanks to the computational tractability of the model and to the fact that it is fully automatic, we are able to run ...

ABSTRACT Background Japan has one of the highest dialysis prevalence rates worldwide and a shrinking, aging population. Whether dialysis burden has entered a sustained post‐peak phase or whether recent declines partly reflect pandemic‐related disruptions remains uncertain.

Septin 9 polybasic domains couple phosphoinositide‐rich membrane binding to centrosome positioning, Golgi organization, and microtubule acetylation to control epithelial polarity. Their loss disrupts this axis, causing centrosome mispositioning, Golgi fragmentation, reduced microtubule acetylation, and polarity inversion via upregulation of the ...

Degradation mechanism of the von Willebrand factor A2 domain by nattokinase
Nattokinase, a natto‐derived protease, exhibits potent antithrombotic effects. This study demonstrates that nattokinase directly cleaves the von Willebrand factor (vWF) A2 domain in vitro. Unlike the native regulator ADAMTS13, nattokinase degrades folded vWF independently of shear stress.

Reachability and Controllability of Fractional Singular Dynamical Systems with Control Delay
This paper is concerned with the reachability and controllability of fractional singular dynamical systems with control delay. The factors of such systems including the Caputo’s fractional derivative, control delay, and singular coefficient matrix are ...

Constraints on running vacuum models with the baryon-to-photon ratio
We study the influence of running vacuum on the baryon-to-photon ratio in running vacuum models (RVMs). The photon and baryon number densities, from photon decoupling to the present day, are obtained in the context of RVMs by assuming that photons and ...

Modulation of Homer1 EVH1 domain internal dynamics by putative autism‐associated mutations
The putative autism‐associated M65I and S97L variants of the EVH1 domain of the postsynaptic scaffold protein Homer1 do not exhibit substantial changes in their overall structure or partner binding. Both of them, but especially the M65I variant, show altered internal dynamics relative to the wild‐type domain on the μs‐ms timescale, indicated by the ...

Monitoring the Path to the Elimination of Infectious Diseases
During the endgame of elimination programs, parasite populations may exhibit dynamical phenomena not typical of endemic disease. Particularly, monitoring programs for tracking infection prevalence may be hampered by overall rarity, the sporadic and ...

The coefficient of dynamism of a nonlinear oscillator
Nonlinear oscillations caused by the initial deviation of the oscillator from the equilibrium position or the initial velocity given to it in this position are considered. It is assumed that the restoring force is proportional to the sine of the displacement of the oscillatory system. There are two variants of the sine: trigonometric and hyperbolic. In
