Dzyaloshinskii–Moriya interaction manipulation in multiferroic Janus monolayers

open access: yesnpj Computational Materials
The discovery of two-dimensional (2D) multiferroic materials leads to significant breakthroughs in condensed matter physics. However, the role of Dzyaloshinskii–Moriya interaction (DMI) in determining the magnetic and ferroelectric orderings of 2D ...

Enhanced Spin‐Reorientation Transition and Polarization in DyFeO3 Thin Films

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, EarlyView.
Epitaxial strain in antiferromagnetic orthoferrite thin films enhances known bulk properties into a parameter range that makes them more accessible for potential applications. We show that bulk polar properties move from 4 K towards room temperature and the magnetic field‐induced AFM to FM spin‐flip in the paramagnetic Dy lattice when applying small ...

Stable Magnetic Nanodomains Engineered Via Ga+‐ion Irradiation For Deterministic Sequential Switching

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, EarlyView.
Tiny magnetic regions separated by domain walls can store data, but controlling them precisely is difficult. We use focused ion beams to create nanoscale “anisotropy wells” that pin these walls from both sides. This bidirectional pinning holds domains stable in either direction, even with no field applied.

Magnetic ordering and dynamics in monolayers and bilayers of chromium trihalides: atomistic simulations approach

open access: yesScientific Reports
We analyze magnetic properties of monolayers and bilayers of chromium iodide, $$\hbox {CrI}_3$$ , in two different stacking configurations: AA and rhombohedral ones.

Dynamics of chiral solitons driven by polarized currents in monoaxial helimagnets

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2020
Chiral solitons are one dimensional localized magnetic structures that are metastable in some ferromagnetic systems with Dzyaloshinskii–Moriya interactions and/or uniaxial magnetic anisotropy.

Decoupled Spin Hall Voltage Readout for Domain‐Wall Synapses in Embedded Neuromorphic Computing

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
Magnetic domain‐wall synapses provide nonvolatile multilevel states with linear, symmetric weight updates, making them attractive for neuromorphic hardware. However, DW MTJ readout has magnetoresistance‐limited dynamic range, while anomalous‐Hall readout suffers from weak voltage output and read/write coupling.

Crucial Role of Magnetic Dipole and Anomalous Field Dependence in NiPS3

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
Torque magnetometry on the prototypical 2D anisotropic magnet NiPS3, together with relativistic density functional theory calculations, uncovers a distinct intrinsic magnetic anisotropy. The characteristic torque pattern, driven by a high‐field spin‐flop transition, reveals its magnetic response beyond standard XY or XXZ models and highlights the ...

Spin conductivity in two-dimensional Heisenberg model on Lieb lattice under magnetic field and spin-orbit interactions

open access: yesScientific Reports
We investigate here the impact of an out-of-plane magnetic field and spin-orbit interaction on the spin conductivity of the two-dimensional Heisenberg model on a Lieb lattice.

Control of Polarization and Polar Helicity in BiFeO3 by Epitaxial Strain and Interfacial Chemistry

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, Volume 36, Issue 81, 8 October 2026.
In BiFeO3 thin films, the interplay of interfacial chemistry, electrostatics, and epitaxial strain is engineered to stabilize homohelicity in polarization textures at the domain scale. The synergistic use of a Bi2O2‐terminated Aurivillius buffer layer and a highly anisotropic compressive epitaxial strain offers new routes to control the polar‐texture ...

Omnipolar Magnetic Field Detection by Superlattice‐Based Hall Sensor

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, Volume 36, Issue 81, 8 October 2026.
Magnetic‐field‐induced electronic switching is demonstrated in unit‐cell‐engineered La0.7Sr0.3MnO3–BiFeO3 superlattices. Distinct substrate terminations modify magnetic and transport properties. Hall resistance measurements show omnipolar, hysteretic anomalous Hall switching above the Curie temperature, arising from Fe─Mn interfacial exchange, enabling
