Vector‐Field Control and Emergent Basal‐Plane Anisotropy of Magnetic Textures in Noncentrosymmetric (Fe0.63Ni0.3Pd0.07)3P

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, Volume 36, Issue 79, 1 October 2026.
A field‐driven transition from chiral stripes to an achiral fan state is observed in a tetragonal magnet and linked to a temperature‐dependent rotation of the effective Dzyaloshinskii–Moriya interaction axis. This interplay generates pronounced in‐plane anisotropy and provides a new route for controlling chiral spin textures in noncentrosymmetric ...

Disorder‐Broadened Topological Hall Phase and Anomalous Hall Scaling in FeGe

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, Volume 36, Issue 79, 1 October 2026.
By systematically introducing defects into FeGe via ion‐beam modification, we demonstrate that disorder broadens the temperature regime over which the topological Hall effect ‐ a signature of skyrmions or other chiral textures — appears, while also increasing its magnitude.

Bulk‐Like Spin Cycloid and Fast Switching in Freestanding BiFeO3

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, Volume 36, Issue 81, 8 October 2026.
Freestanding BiFeO3 membranes overcome substrate‐induced constraints by simultaneously restoring the intrinsic bulk‐like spin cycloid and enabling ≈50% faster ferroelectric switching than substrate‐clamped epitaxial thin films. This combination of robust noncollinear antiferromagnetic order and efficient electric‐field switching establishes ...

Antiskyrmions stabilized at interfaces by anisotropic Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya interactions

open access: yesNature Communications, 2017
Skyrmions, localized defects in the magnetization, can be stabilised in materials by the Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya interaction (DMI). Hoffmann et al. predict that, when the DMI is anisotropic, antiskyrmions can be formed and coexist with skyrmions, enabling ...

Chiral domain wall motion in unit-cell thick perpendicularly magnetized Heusler films prepared by chemical templating

open access: yesNature Communications, 2018
Heusler compounds are of great interest for spintronic applications. Here the authors report current driven domain wall motion in unit cell thick perpendicularly magnetized Heusler films with low current densities and show the velocity is dominated by ...

Multiple-Q States in Bilayer Triangular-Lattice Systems with Bond-Dependent Anisotropic Interaction

open access: yesCrystals
We investigate magnetic instabilities toward multiple-Q states in centrosymmetric bilayer triangular-lattice systems. By focusing on the interplay between the layer-dependent Dzyaloshinskii–Moriya interaction and layer-independent bond-dependent ...

Micromagnetic simulations for magnetic-field-free magnetization switching by spin–orbit torque in a perpendicularly magnetized (Ga,Mn)As single layer

open access: yesAPL Materials
Spin–orbit torque (SOT) provides an efficient electrical means of magnetization switching in magnetic materials, presenting a significant potential for advancing next-generation information storage and memory technologies.

Perfectly harmonic spin cycloid and multi-Q textures in the Weyl semimetal GdAlSi

open access: yesNature Communications
A fundamental question in condensed matter physics concerns how topological electronic states are influenced by many-body correlations, and magnetic Weyl semimetals represent an important material platform to address this problem.
