A biobased tricyclic thionolactone undergoes selective isomerization ring‐opening polymerization to yield a high‐molecular‐weight polythioester with an exceptionally high Tg of 171°C, exceeding that of the analogous polyester. The polythioester efficiently depolymerizes through backbiting, while its hydrolysis and methanolysis reveal the critical ...

Flavin Catalysts in Organic Synthesis
Flavins and their congeners are potent catalysts for organic synthesis inspired by enzymatic transformations. In addition to catalysis in the flavin ground state via covalent intermediates, the excited singlet and triplet states unlock applications including photooxidation, photoreduction, and energy transfer via sensitization.

How electric bikes reduce car use:A dual-mode ownership perspective [PDF]
Electric bikes (e-bikes) can play a vital role in sustainable transportation and reducing car dependence. However, questions persist regarding the extent to which e-bikes contribute to replacing and complementing car use and other modes, especially from ...

NHC‐Copper(I)‐Mediated Functionalization of White Phosphorus
White phosphorus is functionalized by N‐heterocyclic carbene supported copper(I) complexes through redox‐neutral steps. Treatment of the resulting complexes with electrophiles releases the ligands from the metal center as asymmetrically substituted organophosphorus butterfly compounds.

Cobalt‐Catalyzed [2σ+2π] Cycloaddition via Site‐Selective Capture of Bicyclobutane Diradical
We report a Co(II)‐catalyzed strategy that combines thermal activation of bicyclo[1.1.0]butane (BCBs) with site‐selective radical capture to furnish head‐to‐head fused bicyclo[2.1.1]hexanes via [2σ+2π] cycloaddition with indoles. Detailed mechanistic studies (31P NMR, EPR, CV, and DFT) support the catalytic pathway, while phosphine‐oxide trapping and X‐

We introduce the Aza‐Büchner–Curtius–Schlotterbeck (ABCS) reaction: A mild, catalyst‐free method for homologating aryl imines. Diverging from the traditional BCS mechanism, the diazo intermediate undergoes selective C─C insertion to form an all‐carbon quaternary center.
