E-Nose System by Using Neural Networks
Neurocomputing, 2014This paper considers a new construction of an electronic nose (E-nose) system based on a neural network. The neural network used here is a competitive neural network by the learning vector quantisation (LVQ). Various odors are measured with an array of many metal oxide gas sensors.

Embedded e-nose for food inspection
2012 1st International Symposium on Physics and Technology of Sensors (ISPTS-1), 2012This paper details development of a low cost, small size, portable embedded electronic nose (e-nose). The odor Sensor array is composed of commercially available metal oxide semiconductor sensors by Figaro. The embedded E-nose consists of PIC18F4520 and has an RS 232 interface to Desktop PC for data acquisition, storage and analysis of the odor signals.

E-Nose Algorithms and Challenges
2018This chapter focuses on the up-to-date progress and development in algorithm level for E-nose. We discuss from the viewpoint of feature extraction algorithms, signal de-noising algorithms, pattern recognition algorithms, and drift compensation algorithms that have been fully studied in electronic noses.

Anesthetic Level Prediction Using a QCM Based E-Nose
Journal of Medical Systems, 2008Anesthetic level measurement is a real time process. This paper presents a new method to measure anesthesia level in surgery rooms at hospitals using a QCM based E-Nose. The E-Nose system contains an array of eight different coated QCM sensors. In this work, the best linear reacting sensor is selected from the array and used in the experiments.

Spiking Neural Network E-Nose classifier chip
Proceedings of the IEEE 2010 National Aerospace & Electronics Conference, 2010Hardware E-Nose system classification is a challenging task. This paper presents our system architecture for chemical classifiers, with our recently developed Sampling Spiking Neural Network (SSNN) approach. The SSNN architecture is implemented on a 0.5 um CMOS technology tiny-chip designed to work in conjunction with a 256K external SRAM memory.
