This paper aims to examine the two main issues of Husserl’s phenomenology, intentionality and reduction, as well as the issue of consciousness in Antonio Rosmini. This should be done not by searching a possible combination between the two authors, but by investigating the differences and trying to grasp the stakes of their reflection.

John Husserl Wykert was born in Vienna in 1927 as Hans Wolfgang Weichert. He lived at Gonzagagasse 9 in the first Viennese district. In 1938 he fled from the Nazis to the USA. He got a B.A. at Tufts College, and took some postgraduate courses at NYU.
