New Naphthoquinone‐Based Manganese (II) Complexes: Synthesis, Characterization, and Cytotoxicity

open access: yesChemistrySelect, Volume 10, Issue 43, November 17, 2025.
Two new manganese(II)‐stilbene‐quinone complexes were obtained and fully characterized. The coordination of a quinone core to a metal center improved its in vitro cytotoxicity. Complex Mn1 showed promising results against A2780 ovarian cancer cells and can be used as a scaffold for the development of new cytotoxic and selective manganese‐based ...

Inversion of a chicken ets-1 proto-oncogene segment in avian leukemia virus E26 [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Virology, 1993
The segment of the avian leukemia virus E26 genome near the termination of the p135gag-myb-ets open reading frame contains an inversion of the chicken ets-1 sequence. The inversion contains at least 41 bp and may be as large as 46 bp. This results in the replacement of 13 amino acids of chicken ets-1, with 16 amino acids derived from reverse complement

Modeling Jovian Plasma‐Europa Interactions: Innovative Atmosphere and Ionosphere Depiction for JUICE Mission Insights

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Space Physics, Volume 130, Issue 11, November 2025.
Abstract The JUpiter ICy moons Explorer (JUICE) mission, launched by the European Space Agency (ESA) in April 2023, aims to explore Jupiter and its icy moons, particularly focusing on Europa, Ganymede, and Callisto. This study uses the Latmos Hybrid Simulation (LatHyS) model to simulate Europa's plasma and field environment, emphasizing the upcoming ...

Characterization of the hemopoietic target cells for the avian leukemia virus E26

open access: yesVirology, 1983
The dual leukemogenic response, involving both the erythroid and myeloid hemopoietic systems in chickens infected with E26 virus, has previously been described (C. Moscovici, J. Samarut, L. Gazzolo, and M. G. Moscovici, 1981. Virology 113, 765-768; K. Radke, H. Beug, S. Kornfeld, and T. Graf, 1982. Cell 31, 643-653). Similarly, the in vitro response of

Baculovirus-Encoded Protein BV/ODV-E26 Determines Tissue Tropism and Virulence in Lepidopteran Insects [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Virology, 2012
ABSTRACT Lepidopteran nucleopolyhedroviruses (NPVs) show distinct tissue tropism in host insect larvae. However, the molecular mechanism of this tropism is largely unknown. We quantitatively investigated NPV tissue tropism by measuring mRNA levels of viral genes in 16 tissues from Bombyx mori NPV (BmNPV ...

Energetic Proton Dropouts During the Juno Flyby of Europa Strongly Depend on Magnetic Field Perturbations

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Space Physics, Volume 130, Issue 11, November 2025.
Abstract During Juno's only flyby of Europa, the Jupiter Energetic Particle Detector Instrument (JEDI) measured complex dropouts in the energetic ion flux in Europa's wake. We investigate the causes of these dropouts, focusing specifically on energetic protons of ∼100 ${\sim} 100$ keV and ∼1 ${\sim} 1$ MeV, using back‐tracking particle simulations, a ...
