Operations for entrepreneurs: Can Operations Management make a difference in entrepreneurial theory and practice?

open access: yesProduction and Operations Management, Volume 31, Issue 12, Page 4599-4615, December 2022., 2022
Abstract Although entrepreneurship‐related papers have had some representation in Production and Operations Management (POM) over the past 30 years, the topic still seems a bit like a poor stepchild in the research of operations management (OM) scholars. Yet, entrepreneurship is important to the economy, and many schools are growing significantly their

Maternal mental health and infant neurodevelopment at 6 months in a low‐income South African cohort

open access: yesInfant Mental Health Journal: Infancy and Early Childhood, Volume 43, Issue 6, Page 849-863, November 2022., 2022
Abstract Maternal mental health disorders and the adverse consequences for infant neurodevelopment have received substantial research attention in high‐income countries over the past five decades. In Africa, where relatively little work has been done on this topic, researchers have largely focused on infant physical health outcomes.

What impacts the value of revenues from taxation of income of corporations? Evidence from European Union Member States

open access: yesWroclaw Review of Law, Administration and Economics, 2022
Fiscal revenues from taxation of income of corporations are more volatile than those earned from any other mayor tax. COVID-19 and the war in Ukraine pose additional threats to government inflows from this source, especially jeopardizing several EU ...

The Portfolio Theory of Inflation and Policy (in)Effectiveness: Exploring it Further and Righting the Wrongs

open access: yesEconomics: Journal Articles, 2022
This article revisits the Portfolio Theory of Inflation (PTI) proposed in my original work published earlier (Bossone, B. (2019, 4 June). The portfolio theory of inflation and policy (in)effectiveness. Economics Journal, 1–25. Article No. 2019-33.), with

Exact Solution of Return Hysteresis Loops in One Dimensional Random Field Ising Model at Zero Temperature [PDF]

open access: yesPhys Rev E62, 4725 (2000)., 2000
Minor hysteresis loops within the main loop are obtained analytically and exactly in the one-dimensional ferromagnetic random field Ising-model at zero temperature. Numerical simulations of the model show excellent agreement with the analytical results.

Conservation of Circulation in Magnetohydrodynamics [PDF]

open access: yesPhys.Rev. E62 (2000) 5594-5602, 2000
We demonstrate, both at the Newtonian and (general) relativistic levels, the existence of a generalization of Kelvin's circulation theorem (for pure fluids) which is applicable to perfect magnetohydrodynamics. The argument is based on the least action principle for magnetohydrodynamic flow. Examples of the new conservation law are furnished.

Acoustic Energy and Momentum in a Moving Medium [PDF]

open access: yesPhys.Rev.E62:1341-1350,2000, 1999
By exploiting the mathematical analogy between the propagation of sound in a non-homogeneous potential flow and the propagation of a scalar field in a background gravitational field, various wave ``energy'' and wave ``momentum'' conservation laws are established in a systematic manner.

Duality relations for M coupled Potts models [PDF]

open access: yesPhys.Rev.E62:1,2000, 2000
We establish explicit duality transformations for systems of M q-state Potts models coupled through their local energy density, generalising known results for M=1,2,3. The M-dimensional space of coupling constants contains a selfdual sub-manifold of dimension D_M = [M/2].
