Voltage‐gated potassium channels mediate thyroid hormone control of skeletal muscle excitability

open access: yesThe Journal of Physiology, EarlyView.
Abstract figure legend Thyroid hormone (TH)‐dependent remodelling of potassium (K+) channel networks regulates skeletal muscle (SkM) excitability. Triiodothyronine (T3), locally generated from thyroxine (T4) by type 2 deiodinase (D2), binds thyroid hormone receptors (TRα/β) and modulates transcription via thyroid response elements (TREs).

hERG1 channels and potential therapeutics for long QT syndrome

open access: yesThe Journal of Physiology, EarlyView.
Abstract figure legend Prolonged QT results from hERG1 channel dysfunction. (A) Physiological anterograde trafficking of hERG1 channels to the plasma membrane, leading to a normal electrocardiogram. (B) Prolonged QT results from the presence of fewer hERG1 channels on the plasma membrane due to decreased anterograde trafficking or reduced function due ...

Dropping Counter: A Detection Algorithm for Identifying Odour-Evoked Responses from Noisy Electroantennograms Measured by a Flying Robot

open access: yesSensors, 2019
The electroantennogram (EAG) is a technique used for measuring electrical signals from the antenna of an insect. Its rapid response time, quick recovery speed, and high sensitivity make it suitable for odour-tracking tasks employing mobile robots ...

Gold‐Stabilized Copper Enables Anodic Hydrogen Evolution for Ultralow‐Voltage CO‐to‐Ethylene Electrolysis

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, Volume 38, Issue 56, 8 October 2026.
Gold‐stabilized copper suppresses hydroxide‐driven deactivation during anodic hydrogen evolution from furfural. Pairing this low‐potential anode with CO‐to‐ethylene electroreduction enables sub‐1 V operation at 400 mA cm−2, high single‐pass CO conversion, and co‐production of ethylene, furoic acid, and a separate hydrogen stream.

The predictive role of modified stress hyperglycemia rate in predicting early pneumonia after isolated coronary bypass surgery in patients with diabetes mellitus

open access: yesBiomolecules & Biomedicine
Postoperative pneumonia (PP) is one of the most serious complications following coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) surgery. The recently developed admission blood glucose (ABG)/estimated average glucose (eAG) ratio has been identified as a prognostic ...

Electroantennogram reveals a strong correlation between the passion of honeybee and the properties of the volatile

open access: yesBrain and Behavior, 2020
Introduction Insects use their antennae to detect food, mates, and predators, mainly via olfactory recognition of specific volatile compounds. Honeybees also communicate, learn complex tasks, and show adaptable behavior by recognizing and responding to ...

Continuous‐Flow Microfluidic Synthesis Enhances C2+ Selectivity for Cu2O Catalysts

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 55, 5 October 2026.
Microfluidic devices are used to prepare Cu2O nanoparticles under laminar flow conditions, which exhibit enhanced selectivity in the CO2‐to‐C2+ reaction due to their nanoporosity and high defect concentration. Cu2O prepared using standard solution methods displays decreased CO2‐to‐C2+ selectivity due to the absence of similar properties. Altogether, we

UHPLC/MS‐MS Profiling, Antioxidant and Antimicrobial Properties of Atriplex halimus L. and Marrubium deserti De Noé Extracts: In Vitro and In Silico

open access: yesChemistry &Biodiversity, Volume 23, Issue 10, October 2026.
This study investigates the phytochemical profile and biological potential of Atriplex halimus L. and Marrubium deserti De Noé extracts. Polyphenolic constituents are identified using UHPLC‐MS/MS analysis, complemented by TPC and TFC evaluations. Antioxidant activities are determined via DPPH, ABTS, and FRAP assays, while antimicrobial efficacy is ...
