Early Failures in Unicondylar Arthroplasty
Orthopedics, 2010Unicondylar arthroplasty has reemerged as an option for isolated compartment knee arthritis. We have noticed an increase in the need for early revision of this construct at our revision center. This study sought to determine if the need for unicondylar revision has increased over time and what factors may have led to early failure.

Early and late fistula failure
Clinical Nephrology, 2008While an arteriovenous fistula is the best available form of hemodialysis access, a significant number of fistulae never mature to support dialysis (early failure) or fail after successful use (late failure). Venous stenosis and the presence of accessory veins are the two main causes of early failure. Recent data have demonstrated that a great majority

Early antibiotic treatment failure
International Journal of Antimicrobial Agents, 2009There is no consensus on the definition of treatment failure. It is usually based on clinical signs, although microbiological and other biological markers may prove of value in the future. The major risk factors associated with treatment failure include an inadequate antimicrobial spectrum of the prescribed antibiotic and lack of, or insufficient ...

Sonography in Early Pregnancy Failure
Clinical Obstetrics and Gynecology, 1994Early pregnancy can be best divided into embryonic and fetal periods (dividing line 70 days after last menstrual period), which more naturally reflect developmental changes, morphologic appearance, loss rates, and concerns about teratogens. Newer endovaginal probes and a better understanding of anatomic landmarks and expected growth rates can improve ...

Early Intervention in Heart Failure
Drugs, 1990Treatment for patients with congestive heart failure is primarily directed at reducing symptoms and improving functional capacity.
