Histopathologic Analysis of the Morpho‐Functional Zones of the Human Acetabular Labrum

open access: yesClinical Anatomy, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The structural and functional adaptation of soft tissues to mechanical load controls their ability to withstand injury and influences their capacity for healing. Similar to the knee meniscus, the acetabular labrum exhibits zonal differences in mechanical load distribution, resulting in distinct regions with unique structural and functional ...

Crestal approach for repair of oroantral bone defects and subsequent implant placement

open access: yesClinical Advances in Periodontics, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Oroantral communication (OAC) can occur after a dental extraction. Occasionally, bony defects may persist despite successful soft tissue closure of the OAC. The absence of bone in these areas poses challenges for dental implant placement.

Recent Perspectives on Phytochemical Profile, Pharmacological Activities, and Industrial Applications of Guava (Psidium guajava)

open access: yesFood Safety and Health, EarlyView.
Psidium guajava leaves contain potent bioactive compounds like quercetin, myricetin, and triterpenoids that show antioxidant, antidiabetic, anti‐inflammatory, and anticancer effects. They act by modulating NF‐κB, PPARγ, and α‐glucosidase and by inducing apoptosis and cell cycle arrest.

Refining Osteoarthritis Risk Prediction: Average Sagittal Abdominal Diameter Complements and Enhances Body Mass Index With Sex‐Specific Insights From National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey

open access: yesHealth Care Science, EarlyView.
Our findings support the integration of ASAD alongside BMI in OA risk assessment, particularly in female populations, to address limitations of BMI‐centric models. Implementing our proposed approach could enable refined, sex‐, and age‐targeted preventive interventions.

Isokinetic strength measurements in early knee osteoarthritis.

open access: yesActa reumatologica portuguesa, 2009
One of the most important reasons for locomotor dysfunction and disability in patients with knee osteoarthritis (OA) is muscle weakness in the lower extremity. The aim of this study was to compare the isokinetic knee muscle strength of patients with early knee OA with those of healthy people.Fifty-one patients with bilateral knee osteoarthritis who ...
