Manipulating Atomic Disorder and Mesoscale Architectures for High‐Efficiency Thermoelectric Modules

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The in situ reaction of PbTiO3 precursor reacts in situ with the Bi0.5Sb1.5Te3 matrix, effectively enlarging the energy barrier for minority carrier excitation and suppressing bipolar diffusion, and predominantly scattering mid‐to‐low frequency phonons. Ultimately, a single thermoelectric module was fabricated to achieve a competitive efficiency of ∼7%

Earth-mass Planets in Tandem Disks

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
This paper presents a new terrestrial planet formation theory demonstrating that Earth-mass planets form naturally in tandem protosolar disks. Our model builds upon tandem planet formation theory, incorporating magneto-rotational instability (MRI ...

Light‑Driven Propulsion of Graphene Aerogels in Microgravity

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Ultralight graphene aerogels convert laser light into thrust. Parabolic‐flight experiments directly compare their motion in microgravity and at 1 g, revealing order‐of‐magnitude enhancements in distance, velocity, and transient thrust when weight and friction are removed (∼50 times enhancement).

How understanding planet Earth became science

open access: yesNature Communications
Humanity’s understanding of planet Earth has evolved from myth and metaphor to measurement and models, yet our questions have remained strikingly similar.

How leaky? A large parameter study of leaky dust traps to quantify the transport of pebbles and ice in protoplanetary discs

open access: yesAstronomy & Astrophysics
In protoplanetary discs, the presence of dust traps can significantly alter the transport of solids from the outer to the inner regions, and hence they are often invoked as an explanation for the chemical diversity of inner discs observed with the James ...

Self‐Amplifying Redox Cycle Triggers Ferroptosis/Cuproptosis Synergy for Enhanced Bacterial Eradication

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study designs a targeted nanocomposite (ct@HMCF‐Dex) that responds to acidic infection microenvironments, releasing components which amplify oxidative stress. It disrupts bacterial redox balance, chelates metals to sustain lipid peroxidation, and synergistically induces cuproptosis/ferroptosis‐like death.

Ultra‐Low Intensity Continuous Wave Laser Ablation Propulsion With Graphene‐Engineered Wood

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Graphene delignified wood converts continuous wave laser energy into thrust. Laser propulsion experiments in vacuum reveal the lowest laser ablation threshold intensities and the greatest density‐normalized specific impulse in literature. The results highlight graphene delignified wood as a potential efficient, sustainable, strong, and lightweight ...
