Developing abundant rare-earth iron perovskite electrodes for high-performance and low-cost solid oxide fuel cells

open access: yesiScience
Summary: The swift advancement of the solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) sector necessitates a harmony between electrode performance and commercialization cost. The economic value of elements is frequently linked to their abundance in the Earth’s crust.

Unraveling 4‐Phenylbutyrate's Therapeutic Role in SLC6A1 Disorders: Pharmacochaperoning Over HDAC Inhibition

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Variants in SLC6A1, encoding the GABA transporter 1 (GAT‐1), cause epilepsy, autism spectrum disorder, and developmental delay via loss of GABA uptake, impaired trafficking, and ER retention. We previously found that 4‐Phenylbutyrate (PBA), an FDA‐approved drug, restores GABA uptake and reduces seizures in SLC6A1‐related disorders ...

Effect of multi-component rare earth oxide on microstructure and properties of tungsten electrodes

open access: yesFenmo yejin jishu
Pure tungsten (PW), lanthanum-tungsten alloy (W-La17), and ternary composite tungsten alloy (W-X17) rods were prepared by cold isostatic pressing, intermediate frequency sintering, and swaging. The effect of rare earth oxide on the microstructure, second-

Integration of Serum Neurofilament Light Chain and Cortical Dysfunction Improves Diagnostic Accuracy in ALS

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective To determine whether integration of serum neurofilament light chain (NfL) and cortical dysfunction improves diagnostic accuracy in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) when applied alongside the Gold Coast criteria (GCC). Methods In this prospective study, 148 participants with suspected ALS were recruited (101 ALS and 47 with ALS ...

Temporal Interference Stimulation of Centromedian‐Parafascicular Complex in Disorders of Consciousness: A Pilot Study

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Treatment of disorders of consciousness (DoC) remains a major clinical challenge, and noninvasive, targeted modulation of deep brain structures has emerged as a promising therapeutic strategy. We aimed to evaluate the feasibility/safety and preliminary effects of thalamic temporal interference stimulation (TIS) targeting centromedian‐

Preparation of a Rare Earth Ion Selective Electrode [PDF]

open access: yesBulletin of the Chemical Society of Japan, 1979
Abstract A new rare earth-ion selective electrode with a cerium(IV) oxide membrane has been prepared. The electrode was selective for the trivalent rare earths with a slope as great as 58 mV. The electrode was less selective for bi- and quadrivalent cations.

Is an Apple an Orange? A Large Language Model Benchmark for Candidate Term Extraction and Subclass Decisions Against Upper Ontologies in Engineering and Materials Science

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Building machine‐readable vocabularies for materials science is slow, expert‐driven work. This study benchmarks 13 large language models on two of its first steps: finding candidate terms in engineering articles and deciding where they belong in a class hierarchy.

Potassium-Selective Membrane Sensor Based on Two Recently Synthesized Poly(oxyethylene) Derivatives [PDF]

open access: yesIranian Journal of Chemistry & Chemical Engineering, 2001
Two poly(oxyethylene) derivatives 1.10-bis(2'-benzoic acid)-1,4,7,1-tetradecane (L1) and 1,7-bis(2'-benzoic acid)-1,4,7-trioxaheptane (L2) were used as suitable ionophores for the preparation of potassium-selective PVC-membrane electrodes.
