Evaluation of Land Surface Temperature Retrieval from FY-3B/VIRR Data in an Arid Area of Northwestern China

open access: yesRemote Sensing, 2015
This paper uses the refined Generalized Split-Window (GSW) algorithm to derive the land surface temperature (LST) from the data acquired by the Visible and Infrared Radiometer on FengYun 3B (FY-3B/VIRR).

Spatiotemporal patterns of snow cover retrieved from NOAA-AVHRR LTDR: a case study in the Tibetan Plateau, China

open access: yesInternational Journal of Digital Earth, 2017
Snow cover plays an important role in hydrological processes and seasonal water balance. Especially in the Tibetan Plateau (TP), snow cover is an important source of the Yangtze River, Yellow River and Lancang River (SRYYL), which greatly influences ...

Regional Leaf Area Index Retrieval Based on Remote Sensing: The Role of Radiative Transfer Model Selection

open access: yesRemote Sensing, 2015
Physically-based approaches for estimating Leaf Area Index (LAI) using remote sensing data rely on radiative transfer (RT) models. Currently, many RT models are freely available, but determining the appropriate RT model for LAI retrieval is still ...

Heterozygous loss‐of‐function alleles associate the conserved 3′‐5′ exoribonuclease EXOSC10 with hypersensitivity to the anticancer drug 5‐fluorouracil

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
EXOSC10, an essential nuclear RNA exosome‐associated 3′‐5′ exoribonuclease, is inhibited by the anticancer drug 5‐fluorouracil (5‐FU), and EXOSC10 depletion increases 5‐FU sensitivity. The colon‐cancer variant EXOSC10S402T, located in a proteolysis motif, is stable and nuclear but nonfunctional in vivo.

Simulation and Analysis of the Topographic Effects on Snow-Free Albedo over Rugged Terrain

open access: yesRemote Sensing, 2018
Topography complicates the modeling and retrieval of land surface albedo due to shadow effects and the redistribution of incident radiation. Neglecting topographic effects may lead to a significant bias when estimating land surface albedo over a single ...

Emerging insights into CC and CXC chemokines and their receptors in Mycobacterium tuberculosis infection

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The dual roles of CC and CXC chemokines in distinguishing active, latent, and subclinical tuberculosis were reviewed, along with an evaluation of their potential as diagnostic biomarkers and therapeutic targets to advance precision medicine in tuberculosis management. The graphical abstract was generated with AI assistance (Gemini 3.0).

A Retrieval of Glyoxal from OMI over China: Investigation of the Effects of Tropospheric NO2

open access: yesRemote Sensing, 2019
East China is the ‘hotspot’ of glyoxal (CHOCHO), especially over the Pearl River Delta (PRD) region, where glyoxal is yielded from the oxidation of aromatics.
